Adopt a Dog in Need
Meet our beautiful dogs. Thank you for your interest in adopting!
Tim
Golden Retriever, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel,Meet Tim! This Golden Retriever-King Charles Cavalier Spaniel blend is 3 years old and weighs 31 lbs. Like the book and movie character Bridget Jones, Tim is looking for a very special, loving person who will love him forever, just the way he is.
- General Behavior: Tim is a very sweet dog. He is a bit unsteady on his legs and will need to be helped up and down stairs. He falls over regularly, but he is a happy guy: he just gets right back up and goes on with his day. He really wants a lot of cuddling but needs his human(s) to get down on the floor with him. He will then crawl onto your lap, look for belly rubs, and if you're not careful, come over to give you a big kiss. (Memo to home exercisers: if you are down on the ground stretching or doing sit-ups, Tim will cheer you on with lots of face licks.)
- Likes & Dislikes: Tim likes attention, love, food, more attention, more love, and more food.
- Training: Tim is a gentleman! He is housetrained if let out regularly, he walks well on a leash (considering his balance issues), is well behaved in the car, and generally has good basic manners.
- Medical: Tim has cerebellar hypoplasia, which means he will always have an unsteady gait (especially when he gets excited). He may be a bit wobbly, but he does not require any special medication outside the flea and heartworm preventatives that any dog needs. He just needs an adopter who can lift all 30 lbs of him over obstacles.
- Other Animals: This friendly guy is great with other animals! He is good with other dogs of all shapes and sizes. He has even charmed his foster’s cat, who is usually quite wary of dogs!
- Children: Tim needs a home with older, respectful children or teens only.
- Home: This easygoing guy would be fine with a single-family home, so long as there aren’t stairs for him to navigate or a pool that he could fall into. He’d also love a backyard where he could meander, sniff, and occasionally stumble.
- Grooming: Tim loves having his coat brushed and will enjoy being brushed regularly by you! He’ll probably need professional grooming about every 6 to 8 weeks.
- Overall: Tim will make a wonderful companion for a patient person who can literally help him get back on his feet.
Has Tim run away with your heart? Then visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with his foster family if it’s a potential match. He is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption donation is $375.
show lessTwinkle
Chihuahua, Shih Tzu,Meet Twinkle! This 1-year-old Chihuahua-Shih Tzu blend weighs 8 lbs. Little Twinkle is a playful and fun pooch ready to join her forever family!
- General Behavior: Twinkle is a happy girl who can often be found dashing around her foster home in pure glee! She is always having a good time and finds fun wherever she goes.
- Likes & Dislikes: Tiny Twinkle loves to play with socks; in fact, she enjoys playing with them more than actual dog toys! Teasing her canine friends and engaging in a friendly game of chase are also among her favorite hobbies.
- Training: This adorable pooch is working on her housetraining and leash walking skills, but she’s a smart cookie, and we have no doubt she’ll pick it up quickly with a patient adopter. She has good basic manners and rides well in the car. At night, she sleeps soundly in her dog bed until morning.
- Medical: Twinkle is a healthy pooch that only requires her monthly heartworm and flea preventative, like any other dog.
- Other Animals: Twinkle interacts well with other dogs and wouldn’t mind sharing her home with another. She has not yet been introduced to any cats, but we think she would do just fine.
- Children: This friendly girl does quite well with young kiddos!
- Home: A single-family home or dog-friendly apartment living would be a good fit for Twinkle. She does get quite sad when her humans leave, so a family that is away for no more than 4 hours at a time is required.
- Grooming: As a short-haired Chihuahua blend, Twinkle does not require any elaborate grooming other than her regular baths and nail trims.
- Overall: Twinkle is a fun, happy, and sweet pooch, sure to bring lots of sparks into your life!
Are you the one for Twinkle? Visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org, where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with her foster family if it’s a potential match. She is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, spayed, and just had her teeth professionally cleaned. Her adoption donation is $475.
show lessWagmore
Dachshund, Chihuahua,Meet Wagmore! This little mini 1-year-old Doxie-Chi blend weighs 10 lbs and is searching for a loving family with a playful dog.
- General Behavior: Initially shy, Wagmore is coming out of his shell with his loving foster environment, revealing just how sweet a pooch he is! He is still learning the ropes of being a dog and seeks reassurance from his trusted family members. Although he doesn't initiate snuggles, he willingly participates when approached with a gentle touch. With his foster mom he's become a little velcro dog, following her everywhere as well as tagging along with his fur foster sister. He is a very sweet and mild-mannered boy.
- Likes & Dislikes: Wagmore enjoys spending his time running and playing outside, particularly when accompanied by other canine friends! However, he is not a fan of quick movements or loud noises and often retreats to a place of safety when frightened.
- Training: Wagmore has been working hard on his training skills in his foster home. He does best with his housetraining when let out frequently and on a regular schedule. He is still working on his leashwalking skills and overall feeling more comfortable when outside of his home.
- Medical: Wagmore is a healthy boy and will just require his monthly heartworm and flea preventative.
- Other Animals: Wagmore enjoys the company of other dogs, and having another confident and playful dog in his forever home to show him the ropes would be helpful in increasing his confidence. He's good around cats too and is in a foster home with a friendly cat.
- Children: Wagmore thrives in a quiet, calm home due to his fear of loud, sudden noises and movements. Therefore, a home with children would not be a good fit, but he is comfortable with teens.
- Home: This sweetheart requires a laid-back and calm home, with a family who is willing to give him time to bloom. He will thrive in a single-family home with a secure, fenced-in yard where he can run to his heart's content!
- Grooming: As a short-haired pooch, Wagmore does not require any elaborate grooming other than his regular baths and nail trims.
- Overall: Wagmore is a special boy with lots of love to give to a special family.
Do you have a calm and loving home for Wagmore? Visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org, where you will find the application to adopt. You'll be put in contact with his foster family if it's a potential match. He is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative, and he's neutered. His adoption donation is $400.
