Meet our beautiful dogs. Thank you for your interest in adopting!
Snoopy
Silky Terrier, ,Meet Snoopy! This 10-year-old Silky Terrier weighs 12 lbs. Snoopy is a kissy pup who is on the search for a human who will love him just as much as he loves them.
- General Behavior: Snoopy is such a happy boy filled with so much love! As soon as you enter the room, he will dash to you in pure glee. While he does take some time to feel comfortable in new environments, once he is, he is easy-going and content snuggling with his human, and then returning to his comfy bed for a nap.
- Likes & Dislikes: Aside from quality snuggles, Snoopy loves to give kisses, especially as a “Thank You” for being given a yummy treat. He enjoys lounging around on the couch or in his bed before zooming to the kitchen for mealtime. Snoopy does not like to be left home alone, especially while he is getting comfortable with his environment.
- Training: Silly Snoopy is a good boy! He has great basic manners and walks well on a leash. Once settled, he does well with his housetraining when let out frequently and on a schedule. At night, Snoopy sleeps soundly in his dog bed until morning.
- Medical: While Snoopy doesn’t have any teeth, he is a healthy guy! He gobbles up his soft food like a champ. He does require his monthly heartworm and flea prevention like any other pooch.
- Other Animals: Snoopy interacts well with other dogs but prefers his human over them. He ignores his kittie foster siblings and wouldn’t mind a home with cats.
- Children: Snoopy has not been introduced to any children but given his laid-back and gentle demeanor, we think he would do just fine in a home with them.
- Home: This handsome boy will require a single-family home without directly connected neighbors. Snoopy has a loud bark and when he’s trying to tell his humans something (He’s hungry, not wanting to be left home alone, wants to go outside, etc.), he can be quite loud, and we wouldn’t want him bothering the neighbors.
- Grooming: As a Silky Terrier, Snoopy will require a trip to the groomer every 8 weeks or so to keep him looking spiffy. The cost of grooming for a pup of his breed and size is approximately $65+, and any potential applicants should be aware of this recurring expense.
- Overall: Snoopy is a goofy guy with absolutely so much love in his tiny heart. He is sure to bring happiness and joy to his forever family.
Are you the one for Snoopy? Then visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with his foster family if it’s a match. He is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption donation is $325.
show lessSweet Pete
Dachshund, Miniature Pinscher,Meet Sweet Pete! This 1-year-old Dachshund-Miniature Pincher blend weighs 9 lbs. Sweet Pete is a young guy with tons of puppy energy and is always on the go!
- General Behavior: Sweet Pete, or Petey, as his friends call him, is a friendly boy! He is quite exuberant when meeting new people and other dogs. As active as he is, when his energy runs out, Sweet Pete likes nothing more than to sleep on his person’s lap or as close to that person as possible. He’s a little lovebug and will stare at you with his dark, expressive eyes, melting your heart.
- Likes & Dislikes: Sweet Pete loves playing fetch, rooting through the toy box to see what catches his interest, and playing with other dogs.
- Training: This young guy is working hard on his training skills. He’s learning to walk on the leash but does get quite excited, causing him to bark at any dogs while on his walk. He is working on his housetraining and does well when kept on a regular schedule and let out frequently. He likes treats, which will help with training as he learns the ropes in his forever home.
- Medical: Petey is a healthy boy and just requires his monthly heartworm and flea preventative.
- Other Animals: Sweet Pete interacts well with other playful pups! He has not yet been introduced to any cats.
- Children: Pete would do well with kids 10+ who understand doggie boundaries. Pete likes to get his way with his canine and human family.
- Home: This active pooch will require a single-family home without directly connected neighbors. Whenever he hears noises outside, he runs to the window to bark, and we wouldn’t want him bothering anyone. As a young guy with lots of energy, he will require a family that can commit to providing him with daily walks and exercise, along with continuing his training.
- Grooming: Sweet Pete has a soft, glossy coat so won’t need grooming beyond baths.
- Overall: Sweet Pete is a fun guy with so much love to give to a dog-loving family!

Permanent Residents
Some of our dogs will stay in our care forever. Some have been through so much change and trauma in their lives that putting them through more change isn’t in their best interest, others may have medical needs or need hospice care – these dogs will remain in PPR foster care for the rest of their lives as Permanent Residents.
Apply To foster
When you become a foster parent, you are playing a significant role in our rescue program. When you invite a dog into your home, you provide the love, patience, and guidance to a little dog in need, and Poodle and Pooch Rescue provides the rest! We are responsible for all vetting, grooming, and medical needs the dog may have, all you have to do is treat the dog as if it’s your own. A typical fostering lasts 2 to 3 weeks, and you are never stuck with a dog. You choose the dogs you want to foster, and you are free to foster at your own convenience. If for whatever reason the dog you choose doesn’t fit into your lifestyle, we will simply place the dog into a new foster family. You get to enjoy the companionship of a dog without the lifelong commitment.
