Romeo
Labradoodle, ,Hi, I’m Romeo! I'm a 1-year-old Labradoodle and I weigh 84 lbs. "Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo" you ask? Because I'm a lover boy who is very affectionate and just wants to play all day!
Favorite Things: At first, Romeo can be quite cautious, but once he gets to know you , he is very loving and playful. He willl happily wait by your side while watching tv, but he also can't wait for his walks. This goofy guy also loves toys: the more, the merrier!
Training & Manners: A true gentleman, Romeo is housetrained if let out regularly. He walks very well on the leash and will go at your pace. He is a well-behaved passenger on car rides and sleeps in his dog bed at night. He could probably work on some other basic manners-- he is a big goofball who is not always aware of his size and strength/personal space-- but he is generally well-behaved.
Health & Care: Romeo is very allergic to chicken. As long as he stays away from poultry, though, he's a health boy. He will just need wipes to keep his eyes clean plus the usual flea and heartworm preventatives. He is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. As a Doodle, his future owners will also need to factor in regular brushing plus professional grooming about every 6-8 weeks.
Other Animals: Romeo gets along with other dogs of all sizes (as long as they let him be the boss). He has been known to be a bit of a kibble bandit if other dogs don't eat all their food. He hasn't been observed around cats yet, but his foster isn't sure that it would be a good fit.
Children: This shy sweetheart would do best in a home with kind, understanding teens.
Ideal Home: A single-family home would be best for Romeo, since he can be very vocal to let you know when someone is at the door.
Overall: Romeo's fosters describe him as an "all around awesome dog." Do you think and you and Romeo are star-crossed and destined to be a family forever? If so, visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to fill out an adoption or foster application. If it seems like a good match, our team will reach out with more information. His adoption donation is $550.
show lessShadow
Australian Shepherd, Shepherds (All Types),Hi, I’m Shadow. I’m a 3½‑year‑old, 33‑pound Australian Shepherd blend who likes to ease into new friendships. I’m a quiet, observant and happy fella when I can take my time deciding when to step forward. Once I feel safe, I greet my people with soft enthusiasm and a gentle tail wag that says I’m glad you’re here.
Favorite Things: Shadow enjoys cozy blankets, calm spaces and the freedom to relax without pressure. He’s not much of a toy fan and prefers doing his own thing, but once he’s comfortable, he settles nearby with quiet contentment.
Training and Manners: He is house trained with regular outdoor breaks. Shadow walks nicely on a leash, rides politely in the car and sleeps in his dog bed at night. He’s still learning some basic manners, but he responds well to patient guidance. When left alone, he’s trustworthy; he simply gathers a blanket or two to build the perfect nap spot.
Health and Care: Shadow is neutered, microchipped and current on vaccines. He’ll need monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Regular brushing keeps his coat comfortable and helps him feel his best.
Other Animals: He does well with dogs of all sizes and thrives in a home with more outgoing dogs that can help him with his confidence. His ideal home would have another dog to keep him company. He hasn’t met cats yet, but his calm nature suggests he may do fine with a slow introduction.
Children: Shadow hasn’t lived with kids before. He should do well with older, dog‑savvy children (10+) who understand his demeanor.
Ideal Home: He would do well in an apartment, condo or townhome with regular outings. Shadow thrives in a quiet, predictable home with patient people who understand shy dogs. He doesn’t enjoy being approached directly, but when given space, he chooses connection on his own terms.
Overall: Shadow is a gentle, introverted companion who blossoms slowly but deeply. He’s independent, low‑key and easy to live with, especially for someone who appreciates a calm, observant dog. Once he trusts you, he greets you with genuine warmth and settles into your life just as his name promises softly, steadily and always close by.
Could Shadow be the one you’ve been looking for? Then head to www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to fill out an adoption application. If it seems like a match, his foster family will contact you. His adoption donation is $400.

Terrier (Unknown Type, Small), ,***Local adoption only: Tigger needs a family in the central Florida region (Orlando area) who can commit to taking him to his final follow up appointments with PPR's vetting partners. The cost of these appointments is covered in his adoption donation.***
Hi, I’m Tigger, a 3-month-old Terrier boy. And we all know about tiggers – they’re bouncy, pouncy and fun! True to my name, I’m happy, playful, and full of enthusiasm. At 6 pounds of pure puppy energy, I’m looking for a family who is willing to teach a young dog like me some of the old tricks. My curiosity and intelligence make me a fast learner, and my loving disposition is sure to bring joy to any home.
Favorite Things: Tigger loves toys - the more the better - and is always up for a game of fetch with any toy in the bin! He also enjoys exploring the outdoors and is a great fan of chasing lizards and squirrels. He’ll need supervision and a secure area, but you can count on him to help with the weeding and other gardening chores. Tigger is not a fan of loud noises and prefers to have someone nearby to guide him through new experiences.
Training & Manners: Tigger is house trained in his current home where he is let out regularly. As a puppy, he’ll need someone who is at home more often than not during his early months to help continue his training, let him out frequently, and raise him to be the best boy he was born to be. He already walks well on a leash, loves a car ride, and sleeps well in a secure space at night.
Health & Care: Tigger is heartworm negative, microchipped, and current on vaccinations but will need additional vaccines in the near future. He has follow up appointments and neuter surgery scheduled with our vet partner and his adopters must commit to taking him to these appointments, as well as to post-surgery care. The cost of the procedure and appointments is covered in his adoption donation. He’ll need monthly flea and heartworm preventatives like any dog, and regular brushing and nail trimming will help him look and feel his best.
Other Animals: Tigger has experience with other small dogs and would enjoy a fur sibling to play with. He hasn’t been tested with cats.
Children: This sweet boy would do best in a home with children ages 8 and older.
Ideal Home: Tigger would do fine in an apartment, condo, townhome or single home. He can be left alone in the home in a secure space for a few hours without issues.
Overall: If you live in Central Florida and are willing to love and train a sweet, smart young pup with a big heart, Tigger may be the one for you. If you think he might be, visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to fill out an adoption application. If it seems like it could be a good match, his foster family will reach out with more information. His adoption donation is $575.

Permanent Residents
Some of our dogs will stay in our care forever. Some have been through so much change and trauma in their lives that putting them through more change isn’t in their best interest, others may have medical needs or need hospice care – these dogs will remain in PPR foster care for the rest of their lives as Permanent Residents.
Apply To foster
When you become a foster parent, you are playing a significant role in our rescue program. When you invite a dog into your home, you provide the love, patience, and guidance to a little dog in need, and Poodle and Pooch Rescue provides the rest! We are responsible for all vetting, grooming, and medical needs the dog may have, all you have to do is treat the dog as if it’s your own. A typical fostering lasts 2 to 3 weeks, and you are never stuck with a dog. You choose the dogs you want to foster, and you are free to foster at your own convenience. If for whatever reason the dog you choose doesn’t fit into your lifestyle, we will simply place the dog into a new foster family.
