Daisy
Maltese, Poodles (All Types),Hi, I'm Daisy! I’m a tiny, 8-lb Maltese/Poodle blend girl and I'm 10 years old. My hearing and vision aren't what they used to be, but I don’t let that stop me from exploring. Now I just need to discover a very special, patient family who will love me just the way I am.
Favorite Things: Daisy LOVES her food and loves soaking up attention. Toys and playing are not really her thing, but exploring her surroundings is high on her list of favorite activities. She also loves being around her person and will sit next to them as much as possible (and extra close in bed at night).
Training & Manners: Daisy is working on her house training and will need to be taken outside frequently. Due to her vision, she doesn’t do well on a leash so will need more practice with leash walking, and her hearing sometimes makes it difficult to communicate with her. The good news is that she is highly food-motivated to improve her manners. She is verbal when she wants food but is otherwise quiet.
Health and Care: Daisy is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. She is on daily drops for dry eyes and takes her monthly preventatives for fleas and heartworm, along with medications for anxiety. She will likely require professional grooming every 6-8 weeks to keep her looking and feeling her best.
Other Animals: Daisy has experience with other small dogs and cats.
Children: This gentle, curious gal would do best in a home with respectful teens only.
Ideal Home: Daisy would do well in an apartment, condo or single-family home. Her “dream” home would be a house without steps (although she is tiny enough to carry) and no pool (for safety reasons with her vision impairment). A fenced yard would keep her safe and give her room for her adventurous explorations. She has free rein of her foster home and can be left for several hours without issues. She sleeps in the “people bed” at night and is happy to cozy up to her person.
Overall: Daisy is a great and loyal companion asking only for food, love, attention, and patience (and creativity when it comes to communication.)
Could special Daisy be the one for you? If so, visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org and submit an adoption application. If it looks like a good fit, her foster family will reach out with more information. Her adoption donation is $175.

Poodles (All Types), Schnauzer (Miniature),My name is Dexter, and I don’t mean to brag, but I’m a pretty special guy! I’m an 8‑year‑young Poodle blend, weighing in at 19 lbs. I’m a loving, quirky boy with lots to say — mostly through my collection of funny noises. Remember the sounds the pterodactyls made in Jurassic Park? Yep… that’s me!
Favorite Things: Dexter LOVES squeaky toys and stuffed animals — the more, the better. Fetch is one of his favorite games, and he’ll proudly bring you his stuffie and ask for a solid 10–15 throws before he’s satisfied. After that, he’ll grab his toy and settle in for a well‑earned rest (and you can rest your throwing arm). He’s very food‑motivated and will “talk” to you while you prepare his meals… just a little encouragement to speed things along. And if you have a pool? Dexter will happily hop onto your float and lounge right beside you.
Training & Manners: Dexter has great manners and walks nicely on a leash. He’s excellent about going potty outdoors when kept on a consistent schedule. He doesn’t get into things and enjoys free rein of the house with his furry foster pals, whether his family is home or away. He’s a perfect passenger in the car — he rides in his secure car seat, watches the world go by, and then settles in for a nap.
Health & Care: Dexter is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, neutered, and recently had a dental cleaning. He takes a low‑dose calcium medication that costs about $1/day — he looks forward to his twice‑daily dose and takes it like a treat. He’s also on monthly heartworm and flea prevention, like any dog should be. His fur is soft and thin, so he’ll need professional grooming every 10–12 weeks. He’s a perfect gentleman for grooming appointments and at‑home baths.
Other Animals: Dexter is good with dogs of all sizes, and he’s just fine with cats too.
Children: Dexter enjoys gentle affection and scratches from people of all ages, but he does not appreciate kids grabbing at him or trying to pick him up. For this reason, a home with older (8 +), respectful children — or an adult‑only home — would be ideal.
Ideal Home: Dexter would thrive in a single‑family home. He can be vocal at times (remember those pterodactyl sounds?) and has big opinions when you leave the house without him, so shared walls in an apartment or condo aren’t the best fit. He’d love a fenced yard or a human who enjoys leisurely walks — either works for him. At night, he sleeps in the “human bed” and uses the steps to get up and down. He sleeps soundly through the night and will happily snooze in and snuggle on the weekends. What more could you ask for?
Overall: Dexter is a loving, quirky Poodley boy ready to meet his forever family. Could that be you? If so, please visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to fill out an adoption application and our team will be in touch. His adoption donation is $350.

Chihuahua, Dachshund,***Local adoption only: Felix needs to be adopted by a family in the Central Florida region (Orlando area) who will commit to taking him to follow-up vaccinations and neuter (at the appropriate time) with PPR's vetting partner. The cost for these is covered in the adoption donation.***
Hello! My name is Felix and I am a Chi-weenie (Chihuahua Dachshund) blend boy. I am 11 WEEKS old, and I weigh 5.6 lbs. My name means “happy” and “fortunate”, and I am! I am also adventurous, affectionate, curious and a self-proclaimed “wiggle-butt”. I would be most fortunate to find a forever home where I can be loved and shown the ropes about being the best boy I can be! I tend to “go with the flow” and am doing great adjusting to all my new experiences.
Favorite Things: Felix loves toys . . . the more, the better! He also loves to play with his sister Fiona (they are currently being fostered in the same home). At night, they turn into little gremlins and love to wrestle, play and do zoomies. Felix loves to give kisses (puppy breath is the best) and has a fondness for cuddles and food, which makes him easy to bond with. He is in his “puppy chewing” phase, so must be supervised or kept in a secure area.
Training & Manners: Felix is a clever boy and is learning potty training quickly. He has not been on a leash yet, so will need to learn about that from his owner. He is accustomed to wearing a collar (a cat collar at present because he is so tiny). Felix is food motivated which should lend itself nicely to basic training. He tolerates a car ride.
Health and Care: Felix is up to date on vaccines, but will require boosters, as well as his neuter at the appropriate time. The cost of these is covered in his adoption donation and they will be scheduled at one of PPR’s vetting partners. Felix should not need any elaborate grooming but will just require nail trims and an occasional bath to make his look and feel his best. He does have floppy ears, so weekly ear cleaning should be a part of his regular routine.
Other Animals: Felix is currently in a foster home with larger dogs and his sister Fiona (who he loves to play with). He would do great in a home with another small, playful pup (maybe even Fiona?). While he is familiar with older dogs, his energetic play style could overwhelm older, laid-back dogs. He has not been tested with cats and would need slow introductions to any feline friends. Please keep in mind that he is a puppy with lots of energy, so not all cats may be excited about that.
Children: Felix has not had experience with children. Due to his tiny size, he will do best in a home with respectful, older children (8+) who are supervised by the adults in the home.
Ideal Home: Felix can be quite vocal and tends to cry when left alone. For this reason, a single-family home would be best. He will need lots of playtime and exercise to work out his puppy energy. He would do best in a home with someone who is home more often than not (especially as he continues to work on potty training). When home alone, Felix does fine in a secure area and after a day of play, he is content to dream away in his own secure space.
Overall: If you are looking for a gentle, silly, curious boy, Felix could be the perfect match for you. With consistent training and gentle guidance, he has all the potential to become a loyal, loving companion.
Do you think Felix could be the one for you? If so, please visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org and submit an adoption application. If it looks like a good fit, his foster family will reach out with more information. His adoption donation is $550.

Permanent Residents
Some of our dogs will stay in our care forever. Some have been through so much change and trauma in their lives that putting them through more change isn’t in their best interest, others may have medical needs or need hospice care – these dogs will remain in PPR foster care for the rest of their lives as Permanent Residents.
Apply To foster
When you become a foster parent, you are playing a significant role in our rescue program. When you invite a dog into your home, you provide the love, patience, and guidance to a little dog in need, and Poodle and Pooch Rescue provides the rest! We are responsible for all vetting, grooming, and medical needs the dog may have, all you have to do is treat the dog as if it’s your own. A typical fostering lasts 2 to 3 weeks, and you are never stuck with a dog. You choose the dogs you want to foster, and you are free to foster at your own convenience. If for whatever reason the dog you choose doesn’t fit into your lifestyle, we will simply place the dog into a new foster family. You get to enjoy the companionship of a dog without the lifelong commitment.
