     Happy Tails

We've made over 1,100 matches because we have amazing adopters who save dogs, rather than buy from a pet store or breeder.  PPR rescues the dogs nobody else wants.  Our adopters give them the love and families they need.

    Meet the true rescue heroes.

Leo is Home!! Stephanie had wanted to adopt a dog of her own for quite some time, and now that her new home is nearly finished, the time was just right to bring Leo home!! Leo is so lucky to have the complete attention of Stephanie, tagging along with her as she goes about her busy life. This lucky pup gets to go to the parks, outdoor cafes, and other doggie friendly venues around town.  He might even convince Stephanie to take him to work with her! Thank you foster parents Michelle and Bill for the care you provided this super cool little guy. And thank you Stephanie for your lifetime commitment to love your rescue pup!
Lexie is Home!!  Nancy, Roger and their children David and Rachel (pictured) adopted Lexie.  When they met Lexie, they knew that she was coming home with them to join their Boston Terrier Sandy!  This adoption is extra special because Nancy and Roger are friends of Lexie's foster mom, Julie. That means Julie gets to visit Lexie any time! Julie not only fostered Lexie, but also transported her from animal control, and cared for her throughout her bladder stone surgery and recovery.  Lexie is such a lucky girl to have so many people in her life who love her . Thank you foster Julie and adopters Nancy, Roger and family for fulfilling this pup’s dreams of happily ever after.
Lolly is Home!!  Lolly needed a family that was patient, experienced and had lots of time for her.  Jan and Brent were just what Lolly needed.  They wanted a dog to love, having lost their sweet girl Zoe last fall. Now Lolly is now living a great life with retirees who spoil her and dote on her every need. Like a lot of our pups, Lolly gets to live the snowbird life traveling with Jan and Brent between homes in Florida and Illinois. We love it when our dogs get to see the countryside with their wonderful families! Thank you foster mom Mary for your devotion to Lolly. And thank you Jan and Brent for being rescue angels!
Bella is Home!! Evelyn and Robert waited patiently for the dog who needed them the most. Once they saw Bella they knew she needed them as much as they needed her. These wonderful adopters already have one pup named Kodi, who does service work for “Paws for Friendship”. Bella will surely be another ambassador of good will, showing the world that rescue dogs are amazing. Thank you so much Evelyn and Robert for waiting for Bella through her bladderstone surgery and recovery. And thank you Michelle for saving this pup and making sure she got the care and love she needed to be ready for her forever home. This is one very happy ending!

Mishka is Home! Kristopher and Ginger wanted to adopt a pup who could keep up with their busy family. With 4 active children in the home, Mishka promised she was up for the task! Miss Mishka will never lack for a long walk or a tug game. We are so happy that this beautiful dog will be surrounded by a such a fun loving family. Thank you Kristopher and Ginger for showing your children how great a rescue dog can be! Mishka will be forever grateful as well! And thank you Faith for fostering this sweet pup.

Harvey is Home!!  Yvonne and Klaus are retirees who spend part of the year in Canada and the winters in Florida. Little Harvey will now have duel citizenship as he makes himself comfy in his two new homes!  This little guy gets to see all the sights along the way, traveling with his pup buddy Rusty, pictured here with mom Yvonne. Thank you Yvonne and Klaus for adopting this pup and showering him with love and happiness. And thanks to foster dads Dustin and Stephen for the wonderful care provided Harvey while in your home.

Wally is Home!!  This sweet little shih tzu pup was swept up quickly by Lisa, who is a true animal lover.  We knew Wally was just what Lisa was looking for. When Wally came in, we sent her his photos and Lisa didn't hesitate.  She drove two hours to meet him and of course she fell in love! Wally now has Jake and Bear, two pup buddies to romp with and he can play with his feline sibling Smokey. Lisa will love Wally just as she loves all her animals. Thank you Lisa for adopting a pup who needed a place to call home!
Buddy is Home!! Buddy had just arrived into foster care with foster mom Angelica. When Angelica’s friends Kevin and Ann agreed to watch Buddy for an afternoon, they had no intentions of adopting a dog. This was strictly meant to be “dog-sitting”. Well, Buddy must have had other intentions since he took a look around and decided he needed to stay, not just for the afternoon, but forever! They often say the dog chooses his family and that’s just what Buddy did. Here are Nate and Gabby with Buddy, their new brother! Thank you to foster Angelica and new family Kevin, Ann, Nate and Gabby for making this pup feel right at home!

Snoopy is Home!!  Johanna and Paul know that one dog is great, but that 2 dogs double the fun! Their 2 year old shih tzu Benji is an active little guy who needed a pal.  Snoopy was a homeless little guy who also needed a pal!  It looks like Snoopy (the black faced Shih Tzu) is making up for the love he missed during the first part of his life.  He's pictured here with Johanna and her grandson Tyler.  Wow, what a lucky pup to now have a family who will love him forever, plus pup brother Benji to be his best play and tug-o-war pal! Thank you foster mom Sharon for taking in this sweet boy and thank you Johanna and Paul for adopting Snoopy (now Billy)!

Moe is Home!!  He has joined the ranks of those lucky pups who go into foster care and never leave!  Moe's foster mom fell in love with him and couldn't bear to let him go so she adopted him!  Moe is now forever home with Barbara, his foster mom turned forever mom. We couldn’t be happier that Barbara decided that this sweet boy needed to stay with her and her family forever. Barbara knows how to spoil the dogs in her care. There is no doubt that Moe did the happy dance (along with giving sweet puppy kisses) when he got the good news that he was already "home" ! Thank you Barbara for fostering and adopting Moe!!

Tank is Home!!  With a face that is simply irresistable, Tank stole the hearts of Karen and Stephen. This couple lost their greyhound  a year ago and was ready to add another 4 legged friend to their family. Karen knows what it means to  rescue a dog in need.  Tank isn't perfect.  When Tank came to us he had trouble walking, maybe from an injury.  He is doing great now, but he may need an anti inflammatory at times during his life.  But Karen didn't care. She wasn't looking for a dog that was physically perfect, just one that was sweet, loving and needed her.  These adopters are true heroes.  We also thank Tank's foster mom for giving him a fresh start and helping him to heal.

Ginger is Home!!  Amelita and Larry are dog lovers who knew they could provide Ginger the happy home she’d been denied during her short life. Ginger was such a mess when she arrived in foster care. She had been neglected for so long, found tied to a tree.  But with the tender loving care of foster mom Sissy and her friends, Ginger began to thrive and learn to trust. Then along came Amelita and Larry, who already have several dogs, yet knew that Ginger needed them. Thank you Amelita and Larry for adopting Ginger and keeping her safe and loved forever. And thank you Sissy for your devotion to this sweet girl.

Abigail is Home!!!  We adopted Abigail to Kathy, an experienced dog owner who has had a dog with bladderstones and on the bladderstone diet!  She works from home, has no other dogs so this was PERFECT!  She hadn't had a dog for a while, but when her job allowed her to begin working from home she decided to adopt again.  Kathy drove from Tampa to meet her and Abigail is now being spoiled rotten. Abigail has been through a tough time but all is well now!  This dog was in so much pain and now she just has joy in her life.  Thank you Kathy for adopting a dog that needed you and thank you Jeanine and Ron for caring for Abigail until Kathy found her!

Bruiser is Home!!  Tessa and Dave were without a pup in their lives, having waited until the time was just right for a 4 legged member to join their family. They wanted a cool little dog to hang out with and since Bruiser is cool and likes to hang with his people -- a match was made!  Bruiser is now in his forever home with Tessa, Dave and his new cat sibling. He is being raised by a family that adores him and will surely give as much love as he is getting. Thanks Tessa and Dave for adopting a puppy and thank you Michelle for the great start you provided this pup in foster care.

Greta is home! Molly and Justin wanted a playmate for their pup Hammond after Hammond’s doggie sibling Baloo recently passed away due to cancer.  Molly and Justin know from experience that one dog to love is great, but 2 doubles the fun!  When Greta met this family, she won them over with her big personality and ladylike charm. Greta is digging her new digs, big fenced yard and all!  Greta came to us in such sad shape and now she is one of the luckiest dogs ever.  Thank you Molly and Justin for choosing a rescue pup to love and thank you Sharon for the awesome care you gave Miss Greta in your foster home.
Shea is Home!! Brandi and Gustavo have always had big hearts for rescue pups, even the dogs with very special needs. Now with two young children, they took their time searching for a dog the entire family could love. Shea is a sweet heart and loves all people, adults and children. Foster mom Ann felt that a family with 4 sets of arms to hold Shea would be perfect! Now Shea is in her forever home, spoiled in the fashion she deserves. By the way, Jackson, the little boy in the photo has renamed Shea.  She is now "Mia" and so she doesn't get confused, the family calls her "Mia Shea"!  Another happy ending and a complete family!!  Thank you Ann being a great foster mom to this pup.

Kupcake is home!  Ruth and her sister in law Mary Ann drove over an hour to meet Kupcake.  Ruth lost her beloved chi-poodle mix, BeBe, last month at the age of 13.  Ruth decided it was time to save another.  She opened up her loving home and her generous heart to this sweet little girl.  Ruth is retired which is just what Kupcake needs-- a mom that can be with her all the time!  Kupcake loves to be with people and now she has a full-time mom!  Thank you Michelle and Matt for fostering Kupcake!

Suzie Q is Home!!  This precious little face stole the hearts of Allison and Shane, who were looking to adopt a young pup who needed lots of love and attention. This couple felt the time was finally right to add a dog to their small family and Miss Suzie Q was the perfect match. This little pup has so much to look forward to as she grows up with great training, exercise and snuggles. Thank you Allison and Shane for seeking out a puppy to rescue. Suzie Q will be forever grateful. And thank you to foster mom Amanda, you are the best!!
Charlie and Josie are home!  This Mommy and daughter pup pair had been together since Josie was born, 6 years ago. There was no way we could separate these girls so we waited patiently for the perfect adopters to come along. Kathleen and William spotted these 2 and immediately applied to adopt them.  Now they are a family of four.  Kathleen has since sent us photos of William relaxing on the couch with "the girls" lying on top of him!   What a happy ending for this sweet pair.  Thank you foster mom Terry for taking in 2 pups and thank you Kathleen and William for doubling the love!!

Sparky is Home!!  When Sparky came into the care of PPR, everyone agreed he would be adopted quickly. Although we had to shave his head, he was still handsome.  But even more important, Sparky was smart, loveable and funny!  Lucky for Sparky, Roger was looking for a pup companion to hang out with.  And since Roger works mostly from home, any dog he adopted would get a ton of attention. Roger spotted Sparky on our site and applied to adopt. Sparky took one look at Roger and jumped right into his lap. These two were instant buddies and the rest is history! Thank you Mandi for fostering Sparky. And a big thank you to Roger for rescuing this precious pup!
Hans is Home!! Allison applied for a dog and was open to adopting the dog who needed her the most. She saw the photo for Hans and determined that he was the little pup who most  needed her love for the rest of his life. Hans is no dummy!  He charmed Allison's socks off and sealed the adoption deal!  Hans will be Prince of the castle in his new home. Allison, her roommate Diane, and other friends and family, will love and spoil this pooch as if he is royalty. Thank you Julie for fostering this sweet pup till his rescue angel Allison stepped in. And thank you Allison for your big heart for dogs in need.

Jasper is Home!! Genyth waited until the time was just right to adopt a puppy. With a new home, a fenced yard and lots of love to give, the time had definitely come!  Jasper is the lucky pup she selected, or as she said, the pup who chose her. He even reminded her of a rescue pup she had growing up. We have already heard that Jasper went on his first shopping spree after adoption and is now living the good life, spoiled by Genyth and her extended network of dog loving family and friends. Thank you so much foster mom Janis for giving this sweet pup his jumpstart in life. And thank you Genyth for rescuing a puppy who deserves all the love he’s about to receive.

Sam and Adam are Home!!  No, you aren’t seeing double! Mary Lou and Rex were looking for two dogs to adopt. The past year was tough for them when both of their senior aged pups, Bones and Buddy, passed away. This active couple wanted dogs to take on long daily walks and eventually take with them to do volunteer work in hospice care. Sam and Adam are cool brothers who love to learn and will thrive with Mary Lou and Rex. Big thanks go out to foster mom Cristen for all the love you gave these pups. And to adopters Mary Lou and Rex, well, here’s a big Thank You, Thank You (that’s for being double adopters!).

Cruiser is Home!!  This family of four recently lost their beloved pup Barney and Santa decided that the time was right to warm their home with puppy breath and loving cuddles.....just in time for Christmas.  When they arrived for their meeting, Cruiser crawled into their laps and wouldn’t leave their side. And when it was time to go, Cruiser jumped in their van and said “Goodbye Foster Family, I have found my forever family!”.  Thank you so much Jessica and Craig for giving this once abandoned pup all the love he deserves, and maybe a few surprises in his stocking this year! And thank you Julie for fostering Cruiser and showing him so much love while in your care.

Dorothy is home!  Eileen and her daughter Regina adopted Dorothy.  Eileen has always been active in dog training and agility work which is just what Dorothy needs!  She is a dog that likes to have a job and be part of all the activity in the house.  Because if there's no activity-- she'll make some!  Dorothy is going to be a great agility dog and will have the benefit of an active lifestyle fit for her breed, as well as the love and attention every dog deserves.  This dog is so special because her story was so sad and now she's part of a family who thinks she is so special.  Thank you Eileen and Regina for giving this girl a great home and Tomi for being such a wonderful foster mom!

Joey is Home!! Jason and Daly were looking to add a 4 legged member to their already busy household. With three young boys all asking for a pup to love, who better to fill the bill than Joey, a little mixed breed who has the puppy energy to keep up with a busy family. Everyone knows that puppies and boys just go together, but this little pup hit the jackpot with not just one boy buddy, but three buddies to call his own! Joey will never lack for a game of fetch, a long walk, or a snuggle on the sofa. Joey is extremely grateful to foster mom Janis for providing his great start in life and now to Jason and Daly and the boys for loving him forever!

Kennedy is Home!! Kennedy is a precious little puppy with a face that melts your heart. Derek and Alli found her irresistible so they adopted her to become part of their family. The added bonus for Kennedy is she gets a 4 legged sister named Kayla who will surely be her best buddy and tug of war partner. Thanks to foster parents Sherry and Neil for giving this puppy her best start to a new life and thank you Derek and Alli for seeking out a puppy to rescue. This little girl is one lucky pup!
Bailey is Home!!  Ginger and Tony applied to PPR to be foster parents to a dog needing temporary shelter. It must have been Bailey’s lucky day because she was placed in foster care with Ginger and Tony and never had to leave!!  Ginger, Tony and their daughter Faythe fell in love with their “foster” pup and simply couldn’t imagine letting her go to another family. All that sweet puppy charm worked its magic and Bailey convinced this foster family to be her forever family too. Like Bailey, we just Love when that happens! Thank you Ginger, Tony and Faythe for saving this girl and loving her forever!  Thank you to Michele for sponsoring her!

Oakley AND Janey are Home!!  Carol drove from Tampa to meet A dog, and well, as you see from the picture, she went home with a pair! Carol lost both of her dogs in 2011 to old age so her house felt empty. She missed coming home to the kisses and joy only a pup can provide. Once Carol met Oakley and Janey, who were both in foster care with Linda, she couldn’t pick just one! These precious pups are so happy to live together with a mommy who will love and spoil them. Thank you for Carol for adopting all the pets you’ve loved through your life. You are a true rescue angel. And thank you Linda for being the best foster mom any pup could hope for.

Dakota is Home!  This beautiful chow mix came to us neglected and shy, but after some wonderful care from her foster parents Sandra and Clay, she was ready for a home.  Jeffrey & Jordy, Dakota's new dads, were sure Dakota was the perfect addition to their family. Dakota is here napping with her 4 legged brother Max.  Which is Max and which is Dakota is anyone's guess!  Max & Dakota chase each other in the yard,  empty the toy box all over the house, then relax with a nap!!  Thank you Jeffrey & Jordy for seeking out this dog and making this adoption happen!
Sophie is Home!!  Sophie was abandoned through no fault of her own and all she wanted was one person to love her and keep her company. Sophie’s lucky day came when she met Alma, who adopted her and has already begun spoiling her with toys, a soft warm bed and romps around the park. Sophie shows her gratitude to Alma with lots of snuggles and doggy kisses. These two are going to have a great life together, spending time taking long walks, hanging out at home, and travelling in Alma’s RV.  Alma already reports that Sophie loves to go for car rides so she will make a great co-pilot in the RV. Thank you Alma for giving this dog her second chance and thank you to her wonderful foster mom Terri for being her angel.

Oliver is home!!  Joselyn, Eric and their son met Oliver at an adoption event where many dogs were showcased and eager to find their forever homes. With so many dogs to choose from, Oliver was the one that caught the eye of this young family. His beautiful golden coat, precious face and sweet disposition was all it took for this family to know that they wanted Oliver to be their forever pup. Lucky for Oliver too because he has an active young boy and his friends to play, with and a Mom and Dad to snuggle and hang out with. That’s about as perfect a life as it gets for any dog. Thank you Joselyn and Eric for opening your homes and hearts to this awesome dog!
Kodiak is home! When Kodiak came to us, we knew it wouldn't take long for a poodle lover to scoop him up! That's exactly what happened when Sheila and Jos saw this gorgeous pooch. Their poodle Dagmar recently passed away and their home felt very empty. Kodiak was just the pup to fill their hearts with all that poodle energy so they drove from Tampa to meet and adopt him. Kodiak is with a mom and dad who will continue to train him and pamper him the rest of his days. Thanks Sheila and Jos for rescuing this amazing dog!
Dharma is Home!!  Her new mom and dad Roberta and Donald have huge hearts for all the abandoned pups.  Dharma, now known as Darlin (how perfect is that!) is the luckiest little dog because she is going to be spoiled in her new home. Roberta was looking for the dog who needed her the most and when she saw Dharma, who came to us with one soulful eye, well, that was it!  We are thrilled because we know how much Roberta will love this dog. Thank you Roberta for all the wonderful things you do for dogs in need and especially for giving this little pooch her forever home. And thank you Barbara for the great start you gave Dharma in her foster home.

Buster and Gigi are home!! That means double the love for this lucky adopter! Nancy was looking for one dog to adopt but when she saw this bonded pair, she couldn't resist meeting them. Buster and Gigi stole her heart and are now living the good life with Nancy. They also get to play with Nancy's 4 grandchildren who live right down the street! No doubt these 2 pups are the hit of the neighborhood. Thank you Carrie for fostering this sweet pair and thank you Nancy for adopting them so they can spend the rest of their days side by side in their forever home!
Ebony is Home!  Debi and Scott and their 4 children were ready to give a pup a forever home. Their 16 year old dog recently passed away so the family wasn't complete without a furry friend. Ebony's spunk and her adorable face made her irresistible. And she's just the right size to travel along with the family in their RV, making her a perfect match! Ebony is off to the good life surrounded by active children which is just what Ebony needs!  Thank you Sherry for fostering this precious pup till her forever family came along. And thank you Debi, Scott and kids for loving Ebony forever!

Trudy and Rocky are Home!!!   Alfredo and Maringela  adopted both of these precious cocker spaniel pups.  We are so happy that these siblings are together now in their forever home! Alfredo and Maringela are used to having 2 pups at the same time so it seemed only natural to them to keep these dogs together. After meeting Rocky and adopting him, they set a time to meet Miss Trudy and took her home too! These 2 dogs will grow up together and be spoiled by their mom and dad. What a journey for these spaniels.....from being separated at the shelter to being reunited in their forever home!!  Thank you so much Alfredo and Maringela for providing double the love to these puppy siblings!
Freeway is home!!  Rebecca is a grad student who will be graduating in a few weeks and beginning a new career. She felt the time was right to bring a pup companion into her life now that she is settling into a job and a new home. She was particularly drawn to Freeway and applied to meet him. Rebecca spent an entire day doggie shopping so Freeway would have all the comforts (not to mention toys) he could hope for upon his homecoming!  Rebecca will provide this little guy with tons of outdoor exercise as well as lots of snuggles and we are certain Freeway will readily return the love!  Thank you Carol for sponsoring Freeway, Linda for fostering him and Rebecca for giving Freeway a mom that will love him forever!
Junebug is Home!! Junebug is high energy so the only option for her was an equally active family, with kids, another dog, a pool (Junebug loves to swim) and a fenced in yard!  Juliet and Brian searched for a dog to be a playmate for their recently adopted Aussie puppy. These wonderful rescuers had recently lost their 2 family dogs to advanced age and cancer, so they knew they wanted two dogs back in their home.  Junebug was a great match for their Aussie pup, and more importantly, daughter Collette loves Miss Junebug and vice versa.  This family reports that Junebug has found the family that is just right for her! Thank you Juliet, Brian and Collette for saving another dog and thank you foster Faith for the devotion you showed had for this precious pup. Sometimes the best things in life are worth the wait!!
Eddie is HOME!  Eddie was adopted by Deb, a wonderful gal who knows the importance of rescuing.   Deb had 3 dogs (all rescues) including  Dafney, a 3 legged dog she adopted from PPR 2 months ago.  When she met Eddie, he was nippy, as he is with all new people, perhaps a result of being mistreated in the past.  Deb wasn't bothered by Eddie's fear.  Ia a couple days he trusted her and now he loves her like crazy.  Eddie also fits into the pack wonderfully because he's just as active as them.  Thank you Deb for your patience and love, exactly what Eddie needed.  Eddie is safe, happy and home now!
Elle is Home!!  Richard, Muriel and their 3 children wanted to give their sweet, lovable Goldendoodle Rocky Rascal a playmate. Rocky is such a happy dog and brings the family so much laughter that they figured another big lovable dog would only make for more family fun!  Judging by the smile on Elle’s face, she agrees!  With 3 active children in the house and a big fenced yard, not to mention a 4 legged buddy to pal around with, what more could Elle need? Sounds like puppy paradise! Thank you Richard and Muriel for finding space in your busy lives and home for another pup. Elle hit the doggie lottery when she met your family!!!

Ella is Home!  After losing their Lab Lucy to cancer, Janie and Jeff wanted to adopt a new pup to liven things up and give Charlie, their sweet Shih Tzu, a new sister.  This couple was more than happy to continue Ella's physical therapy following her recent knee surgery, and they will bring her back to PPR for her second knee surgery in a few months.  Janie is a stay-at-home doggie mom so Ella gets lots of walks around the neighborhood and all the hugs she could ever hope for.  Ella is already the life of the party, but when both knees are fully healed, she will be unstoppable! Thank you to Ella's foster mom Kim and our generous PPR donors and veterinarians who fixed Ella's legs!
Curly is home!!  Jean and David were looking for a dog to adopt because Jean just retired and wanted a constant companion.  Curly is one awesome dog who found himself at the shelter through no fault of his own. Roberta sponsored him and PPR rescued him knowing he was going to bring a lot of happy smiles and cuddles to someone. Little did we know he would be lucky enough to have his adopted Mom home during the day to provide him all the attention he craves and enjoys and a Dad who loves him to pieces.  Jean says that Curly is showing his gratitude by protecting their home with his watchdog skills.  Thanks so much to Jean and David for giving this pup the forever family he deserves!
Charlie is Home!! Evelyn wasn’t actively looking for a dog since the loss of her beloved poodle Bernie in October. However, when Charlie came into the care of PPR, we immediately thought of Evelyn and suggested she take a look at this adorable little fella. When Evelyn saw Charlie’s picture, she sensed a connection. As we say in rescue, it seems that the dog “found” Evelyn.  Charlie has helped Evelyn to heal and filled the void left when Bernie passed.  Charlie’s name is now Fredrick which means Peaceful Ruler. As Evelyn says, Fredrick, aka Freddie, will definitely be a Prince in her home!  Thank you Evelyn for allowing another little dog to live a long and happy life in your care. And thank you Andy and Andrea for fostering this precious pooch till his forever home came along.

Molly is home!  Johnette and her two boys love this little girl to pieces.  Donovan is Molly's best bud.  She never leaves his side.  You can see that they even sleep side by side!  Molly follows Donovan everywhere.  She even rides with him in the car when he gets dropped off at school because not only does she love Donovan, but she loves riding in the car!  Johnette says that Molly is so smart, sweet and playful with the boys.  They show her off to everyone!

Buster is home with Shannel, and what a perfect home it will be!  We knew Buster needed an active owner who was willing to play, walk and jog with him. Fortunately for Buster, that is exactly what Shannel intends to do! Buster will also have a fenced yard to run in and practice his fetching skills! Mr.Buster is a very young dog and Shannel has just the right energy to keep him busy. We are so happy that Buster is home just in time for the holidays. Buster will be spoiled by lots of family and friends, plus a few yummy leftovers!  Thank you Shannel for sharing your home and life with this awesome boy and thank you Julie, Buster's loving foster mom!
Tina is home with Nancy!  Nancy is an experienced dog owner, having loved both large and small breeds and cared for her dogs through multiple illnesses. We knew she would be a wonderful Mom for one of our pups. Tina came to us scared and shy, but with her loving temperament and gorgeous face, we suspected she would be adopted quickly. Nancy and her son arranged a meeting and loved her instantly as this picture shows! Who could resist those soulful eyes. Tina is one lucky girl to have Nancy spoil her the rest of her days. Thank you Nancy for giving this sweet girl her new beginning to a long and happy life.  Tina also wants us to thank her foster mom Tomi for taking such good care of her!

Cleo is home! And what a wonderful home it is! Cleo will now be known as Hope because that is just what she brings to Melanie, her new mommy. Melanie might be just 12 years old but she, along with her family, have searched for just the right dog to be Melanie’s constant companion. Melanie is a brave, strong girl who will train Hope as her therapy dog. We think Hope will be that and more! Hope is in for a life of unconditional love, kisses and snuggles. She will be joining her new family of 5 plus big brother Max, an older Schnauzer boy. Thank you to Melanie for saving a dog and giving her HOPE for a very bright future. We look forward to lots of updates on this special bonded pair!

Caviar is home!  This amazing little Lhasa was in a shelter with little hope and next thing he knew, he was adopted to an amazing family with not just one, but three little girls to shower him with love.  Caviar is such a sweetheart and we know he never lacks for someone to play with or snuggle up for a cuddle. What more could a little dog hope for than to be the center of attention in a family with three girls to love him?  Thank you Keith and Rebecca for opening your hearts to a homeless dog and teaching your girls that rescue dogs are the BEST!!  And thank you Maddie, Isabella and Audrey for taking such good care of your precious little dog!

Happy Jack is really happy now cause he’s adopted and HOME!!  Kate was looking for a dog to join her family after the loss of one of her pups in September. Happy Jack will have plenty of playmates in his new home, including pup brother Hiro and house cat Dexter. Kate wanted to be sure she found just the right match for her and her 4 legged kids as they are a super close knit group. Now that her 5 children are grown and on their own, her animals get lots of spoiling which Happy Jack so deserves. Kate wanted a dog who would enjoy long walks on the leash and playtime on her property. Thank you Kate for opening your heart and home to another rescue pup. We have no doubt that you have put the “happy” in Happy Jack for the rest of his days!
Bruno is home!!  Madison and Chris are a young couple who were super eager to adopt their first dog. With college to finish and careers to begin, they gave a great deal of thought as to the best time to expand their family. Fortunately Bruno came along at just the right time. Madison grew up with Daschsunds so it’s a breed she was very familiar with. She even helped her family raise a busy pup like Bruno so she wasn’t concerned that he requires lots of attention and craves activity!  When Chris and Madison met Bruno, it was an instant connection! Bruno is one lucky guy to have been adopted by this active young couple who will spoil him with attention! Thank you Madison and Chris for opening your home and sharing your busy lives with such an awesome dog!
Oreo Cookie is home!! Rob, his new Dad, recently moved to the Orlando area and was waiting to get settled before adopting a dog. We all agreed that Oreo might be a super fit for his lifestyle so Rob met Oreo and there was an instant connection. It seems Oreo, now known as Frasier, is right at home in his new bachelor pad, getting lots of walks from both Rob and the dog walker, as well as trips to the area parks. Updates from Rob have been super positive, and Frasier is one happy dude! Even the dog walker has fallen in love in Frasier.....hey, who could resist those soulful puppy eyes!?  Thank you Rob for giving this middle aged dog a brand new beginning and thank you Mary for sponsoring him!

Riley is home!!  Joel and Ron adopted this beautiful boy who now has two dads that love him to pieces!  Joel and Ron are experienced dog owners and know how to spoil a pooch, which is just what Riley needs.  Riley came to us a shy boy who lived a very sheltered life.  His foster dad Jeffrey taught him how to be happy and have fun.  Joel and Ron will continue to show Riley how wonderful life can be.  Riley has so much to look forward to now!

Destin is home!  We adopted Destin to Lauren, Michael and Avery!  A wonderful family who were ready to open their new home and hearts to him!  Destin is no longer cooped up in a house all day, he now has a big fenced in front and back yard to run and play with Avery!  He is looking forward to being worn out and showered with love on a daily basis.  Thank you to the Kruse family for adopting Destin after driving three hours to meet him.   We wish you many happy days as a new family.

Claude is home!  We adopted Claude to James, Tysam, their 5 yr old daughter and 7 yr old son.  This family lost their last tiny Yorkie at 14 years old.  It was time for another one to love!  Tysam works part time so Claude won't have much alone time.   He'll have his mom around lots.   You can see from the photo that Tysam is already in love and Claude looks so comfy in her arms.  Thank you Jeanine for fostering this fellow and Camelia for sponsoring him!

Dolly is HOME!  We adopted Dolly to Ariane and Michael.  They just lost their beloved Min Pin named Rocky to cancer.  Rocky was their baby.  They loved this little boy more than anything for 8 years.  He was one of the luckiest dogs in the world to have them as his mom and dad.  It was time for Ariane and Michael to give their love to another little one that needed them.  They met Dolly and loved her.  She's now a member of their family and guess who's the newest member of the Luckiest Dogs in the World Club?!!  Little Miss Dolly!!  Thank you Eve for fostering this little love!

Henry is home!!  Gina (on the far right) and her family have a house bustling with people and animals.  Henry is an active puppy who loves people and pets!  Gina has three kids, three cats and three dogs!  She works from home which allows her to give such a special home to all these pets.  Gina also pet sits for PPR foster dogs sometimes.  There is no boundaries to the love she has for homeless pets, including opening up her home to so many!  Thank you Gina for giving Henry a place to call home and a family of his own and to Deb for fostering this munchkin!
Gucci is home!!  We adopted Gucci to Debra and Jeffrey, 2 young retirees whose dog passed away.  Debra and Jeffrey are neighbors of Jeanine, one of our foster moms.  So whenever Jeanine sees them in the neighborhood as she is walking her foster dog, she tells them about PPR.  When they were ready to adopt a dog, of course, they had to adopt from PPR!   Gucci came to us with a broken leg but after PPR vets fixed him, he's doing great!  He is not expected to need any further care and can run, jump and play like a normal puppy! Thank you Debra and Jeffrey for rescuing a beautiful boy that needed a family to love him!
Guapo is home!  Jennifer, Michael and their daughter adopted Guapo (on the left) to join their loving family.  This family adopted their current Chichi boy a year ago and decided it was time to rescue another.  Guapo isn't perfect.  He has one leg that is deformed.  Lucky for Guapo, this family want's looking for "perfect".  They were looking for a dog that needed them.   Guapo has 3 working legs, so his one bad leg doesn't slow him down a bit.  He runs, jumps and plays like a normal dog.  Thank you Frances and Myron for fostering this little guy!  And thank you to Jennifer and Michael for saving another ChiChi boy!
Ozzie is home!!  We adopted Ozzie to Phil, Ann and their children!  Phil and Ann adopted "Pepper" from us a while back (pictured here being held by his sister) and decided it was time to get Pepper a playmate, so they adopted Ozzie.  Ozzie is now called "Snickers".   Snickers (being held by Ann) is a very active pooch who needs a high energy home with kids and dogs.  This family is exactly what Snickers needs!  Phil and Ann say that Snickers "is a "perfect fit for our family".   Thank you Roberta for sponsoring Ozzie and Phil and Ann for giving him the home he needs!

Licorice is home!  We adopted Licorice, now named Lexi, to Kristy and Todd who drove all the way from Tequesta to meet her and of course had to take her home!  Kristy and Todd's children are grown up now and no longer live with them but they have two other dogs Tyler and Cody, a Schnoodle and a Lab.  Lexi is a very active pooch who has two other dogs to play with and chase.  Krisy says "Lexi is doing really great & we love having her a part of our family!".  Thank you Kristy and Todd for driving so far to rescue a homeless pooch!

Daisy is home!!  We adopted Daisy to Suwanna who drove all the way from Sarasota to meet her.  Suwanna lost her Labrador to congestive heart failure at 10 years old.  She currently has 3 cats and was looking for a smaller dog that would do well with her cats.   Suwanna is a very special person-- a dog and cat rescuer.  She and her mom have rescued animals their whole lives.  She got her Labrador after it was abandoned in front of a grocery store and she gave him 10 wonderful years.  Suwanna reports that Daisy is great with the cats, a hit in the neighborhood and enjoys her playdates with her mom's dog.  Thank you Ann for sponsoring Daisy so she can live this spoiled life that includes doggie steps into the bed!

Rio is home! We adopted Rio to Grace, who's old beloved Labrador passed last year.  Grace works from home and her Lab was her constant companion.  This time she wanted a little smaller dog that she could take more places with her but that was big enough for walks on the beach as Grace lives in St. Augustine, very close to the beach.  Rio is an active pooch who loves attention and playtime.  With a full-time mom he's going to get lots of both!  He looks so comfy in her arms already!  Thank you Patricia for sponsoring Rio and Andrea for being his favorite foster mom!!

Milo is home!!  He's the big boy on the left and he has moved up in the world!   Milo used to live in FILTH, he had more fleas than we've seen on any dog, ever!  He was a half bald, breeding dog who's skin was "on fire".  He stunk so bad it was it was hard to be in the same room with him.  But now, he's living in beautiful home with his new mom Paula and brother Luca, a Malti-Poo.  He's now gorgeous, living in luxury and gets to be clean, feel good and be loved! Thank you Paula for saving Milo!

Princess is home!  We adopted Princess to Rene, Milton and their daughter Samantha.  This family's Pug had passed and they wanted to adopt another.  They felt strongly that Princess was the right dog for them and they were right!  We were only going to adopt Princess to a home with no children, until we met Samantha who is so smart she skipped a grade.  When we met Samantha, it was obvious she was going to be great with Princess.  Thank you for Richard for sponsoring this little girl.  Thank you also to Rene, Milton and Samantha for adopting a dog instead of buying one from a breeder or a pet store!!

Rusty went home with Charles, Laura and their 15 year old daughter, pictured here.  This family misses having a dog in their home.  Their oldest daughter moved out and took her dog with her.  The house is way too quiet!   It was time for a new addition.  Charles works from home so Rusty will have lots of company and help with his housetraining skills.   Thank you Mandi and Jessica, Rusty's foster moms for caring for him and his siblings and cleaning up all that poop!
Boo is home!!  Boo went home with Sandi who's dogs April and Cricket had passed at ripe old ages.  Sandi has a vet history proving her dedication to her pets.  A dog in her home is not just a pet, it's a member of her family.  Sandi has a great home and a nice fenced in yard so Boo can run around as he loves to do.  Although he may discover that lying on the sofa in the air-conditioning, chewing on a huge bone is also a great way to spend the afternoon!   Boo is Sandi's new baby.  Thank you Anne for sponsoring him!

Murphy is home!!  Murphy was found starving in the woods.  One of our foster moms was riding her horse and saw what she thought was a raccoon, but turned out to be a puppy, alone in the woods.  She took it home and called us.  After lots of loving care and vetting, Murphy became a gorgeous boy and was ready for a home.  Lauren wanted a companion for Shadow, her blind, diabetic Lab girl who still loves to play!  They adopted Murphy and Lauren says "He's a sweetie and we love him!".  Thank you Lauren for giving Murphy a new life!

Maxwell went home with Cathy and Bill.  This couple has one baby -- a German Shephard named Sasha!  Sasha lost her prior companion and needed another doggie to share her life with.  Maxwell is just what this family was looking for!  Cathy and Bill have a huge yard for romping, so Maxwell and Sasha will get lots of exercise and have lots of playtime.   Thank you Mandi and Jessica for fostering this little pup who is home now!
Betsy is home!  Betsy went home with Peggy, Liz, Katie and their little Yorkie “Bear”. This family drove 2.5 hours to meet Betsy and everyone, including Bear, loved her. Peggy wanted to add another pup to her family after losing their beloved dog Candi last month and Betsy was a perfect match.  Peggy says Betsy is doing great and they all love her.  Next month, Peggy will take Betsy to her last follow up appointment for her eyes (Betsy had cataract surgery thanks to PPR donors).  Then Betsy can live the rest of her life like a normal, spoiled, princess!

Becca is home!  Becca went home with Emily and David who have two other Chihuahua's named Sherman (who is 16) and Nemo (who is 8).  This couple is devoted to their dogs.  Emily works from home so Becca will have a full time mommy.  And of course, she gets to sleep in the bed, where else?!  Becca who was a skinny middle aged dog, used to make money for her owner as a breeder is now living like a queen!  Thank you Emily and David for rescuing this little girl and showing her how wonderful life can be!

Kingston is home!!  Kingston lives with Jennifer, Brian and their 3 daughters, pictured here.  They just lost their Golden Retriever in August and missed the pitter patter of big feet in their home.  They happened to meet Kingston because a neighbor was fostering him and they decided he was the one!  These three girls are just what Kingston, now named Jack, needs to keep him busy!  Thank you Camelia for sponsoring this big boy who was a caged breeding dog and is now part of a family!
Alex is home!  Alex was picked by Susan Marino, founder of Angel's Gate, a non-profit long term care center for dogs in Albany New York, featured multiple times on the Oprah Winfrey show!  Alex was treated like a star at the airport and flew back with Susan in the cabin of the plane.  Susan reports that Alex has quickly adjusted to life at Angel's Gate and captured the hearts of the staff with his enthusiasm. He has been readily accepted by "the pack" and follows the other dogs around, happily wagging his tail. Susan reiterated her commitment to meeting all of Alex's special needs, both now and in the future. Susan is truly a beautiful person with a heart for hard-to-place animals.  We have to also thank Beth, Alex's foster mom, who cared for him so lovingly.

Missy's home!  We adopted Missy to Cheryl and Doug.  Cheryl had been looking for a little dog to love and cuddle so when she saw Missy, she knew Missy was the dog for her. Cheryl and her daughter Angelica, drove from Ormond Beach to meet Missy, now known as Sophie, and it was truly love at first sight. In fact, we are wondering if Cheryl has put Sophie down yet-- she just couldn’t let her out of her arms!  Missy now has a Bichon brother, a very gentle boy named Luke who is 10 years old.  Thank you to Evelyn for sponsoring this little girl and to Cheryl and her wonderful family for giving her the home she deserves!

Player is home!  We adopted Player to Mary, who is a special needs teacher.  Mary's cat passed and this time she was ready for a dog!  This will be her first dog so Player is perfect for her because he's calm, easy and loving.  Despite his name, Player doesn't play much, he's more of a loverboy.  Mary is obviously a special person with lots of patience, given her job.  Player is lucky to be in her arms and is going to be the perfect dog for Mary to come home to after a busy day.  Thank you Roberta for sponsoring Player!

Fred and Ginger are home!! We adopted this dancing pair to Carla, Francisco and their daughter. This family drove from Lake Worth to meet these two and it was well worth it. After the loss of their Poodle Max, they needed another to love. Lucky for Fred and Ginger, they have enough room and love for two!  We are so happy we could keep this pair together.  They are side by side from the time they wake up, until bedtime and can continue living together the rest of their spoiled lives!

Sherman is home!!  We adopted Sherman to Stacey who had recently lost her Boston Terrier, Louie to liver disease.  She needed another dog to love because she loves her pets like children.  Stacey drove from Tallahassee to meet Sherman and of course she loved him immediately.  Thank you Stacey for giving Sherman a wonderful home and also thank you to his sponsors-- Maria and Richard, for saving him!
Bubbles is home!  We adopted Bubbles to Kimberely, Brian and their two boys.  Bubbles took to these boys immediately.  She may have been around children in her past because she sure loves these two!  This family babysits a small peek-a-poo so they are used to small dogs but hadn't had a dog of their own for a while.  They met all 3 chichi's but preferred Bubbles because since they loved them all equally, they thought Bubbles needed them the most due to her age and her eye injury.  How wonderful is that!!  Bubbles now lives in Orlando and has a family all to herself!!

Winchester is home!!  Winchester was an animal control dog that, like most of them, was a great dog that had a dumb owner.  He was one of hundreds.  Now he's loved and adored by Neil and his mom Beverly who opened their home to this big loving pup.  As you can see Winchester is so thankful to Neil and has become his best buddy.  A great happy ending to a story that started off so sad.  Thank you Beverly and Neil!

Dori is home!!  Bret drove down from Gainesville to pick up his new girl.  Dori loved her new dad immediately.  She had a 2 hour drive ahead of her to meet her new mom Claire and her brother a 2 year old Bichon named Huckleberry!  Lets hope Huckleberry is prepared for non-stop play as Dori won't accept anything less!  Thank you Patricia for sponsoring Dori who is in excellent hands now especially since dad is physician and mom is a nurse!

Smiley is home!!  Smiley went home with Jeff and Daeng.  Jeff and Deang are about to become empty-nesters as their son is getting ready to leave their home.  So course they needed something to love and care for with their kids gone.  This family drove all the way from Jacksonville to meet Smiley and make him part of their family.   Daeng is a homemaker and with her son gone, what is she going to do?  Spoil Smiley of course!!  Thank you to this family for driving so far to adopt a homeless dog and for Casey for sponsoring him so he could be loved for the rest of his life!
Godiva is home!  Godiva now lives in Wesley Chapel with Denise, Miguel and their son and daughter.  This is the first dog for this family and they picked a great one.  Godiva has become a sweet, but playful puppy.  Her personality is a great combination of calmness and silliness.  She is going to get tons of love from this family and give them years of fun in return.  We waited for the perfect home for Godiva and it was worth it!

Ace is home!  Erika, her husband George and their children Chandra and Preston (pictured here) adopted Ace!  Ace is now called "Tally", after Tallahassee, where Chandra goes to college.  This family has been looking for a dog for a while and Ace needed a home that was relatively calm because he a bit afraid of loud noises and small children.  This family was perfect for him.  Preston even rushes home from his baseball games to ensure Ace isn't home alone too long.  Thank you Patricia for sponsoring this boy!
George is home!!  Mandi is a certified dog trainer at "Every Dog Has It's Day" dog training.  She has helped us save so many dogs with her dog training skills and experience.  We asked her to work with George, the blonde Standard Poodle and not only did she fix him, she adopted him!  George was a mess.  His owner died and he was not socialized.  He would not eat and was afraid of the world.  Mandi worked with him on his social skills and confidence.   In two weeks, George was a different dog!  He learned so many new things, but primarily that he could trust people and to enjoy life!  Thank you Mandi for giving George a life worth living and for all you do to help our dogs.

Calvin is home!! We adopted Calvin to Jessica who drove from Clearwater to meet him and has already emailed us photos of her "new little love" with a brand new hair cut! Jessica looks like a teenager but is actually in her early thirties (lets hope she doesn't mind us announcing that!).  Jessica works in a law firm and has grown up with dogs.  She has two nephews who will have playdates with Calvin, who loves kids!   Oh, and guess where Calvin sleeps?  Of course, next to his new mom!  Tomi and Linda, thank you for fostering Calvin, the lover boy!

Derby is home!  We adopted Derby to Amber, Jeff and their sons Sam and Max!  This is their first dog as a family as they wanted to wait until the boys were old enough before adding another family member.   Derby was the perfect candidate for a first dog because he is, well perfect!   We received a call from the family after having Derby for two days that they LOVE LOVE LOVE him and we are NOT getting him back!!  As you can, Derby and Max are making quite the connection!  Thank you Linda for caring for this big boy during his recuperation from eye surgery!

Lucky is home!  He was officially adopted by his foster family!  Nina, her husband Adam and their 2 kids pictured here-- Billy and Nini made Lucky part of their family.  This foster family helps the special needs dogs. Their hearts go out to the dogs that have nowhere else to go because nobody else wants them.  They foster the dogs that are sick, very old, blind, missing a leg, or have a deformed leg like Lucky.  They smother them with love, give them hope and they make them well.  Lucky hit the jackpot with this family.  Thank you to the PPR donors who made Lucky's leg surgery possible so he can go on to run and play like a normal pooch!!

Princess is home! Barbara and James drove down from Georgia to meet Princess, knowing that due to arthritis in her back leg, she may be on anti-inflammatories the rest of her life.  But this generous couple rescued their last dog, Molly, who just passed, so they know what it means to really rescue a dog.  A little limp and a pill every day, doesn't bother them!  So here's Princess getting a hug from mom, on her way out of the Florida heat!  Another lucky gal!!

Carina is HOME!  We adopted Carina to Carol who drove all the way from St. Petersburg to meet her.  Carol works part time so she has lots of time on her hands to spoil a pooch.  She lives in a community that is very dog oriented.  Carol is very dog experienced, goes on mile walks and her previous dogs lived to ripe old ages, which is what we hope for Carina. Carina got very attached to her foster mom and it became apparent she was a "one person" dog.  That is, she bonds very tightly to whomever she is with so we were looking for a single person that would be as devoted to her, as she was to them.  Carol is the one!  Thank you Jeanine for fostering Carina and to Carol for her love and patience with Carina.

Dafney is home!! We adopted Dafney to Deb, a young lady with TONS of dog rescue experience.  All of her dogs are rescues and she is very knowledgable about dog health and behavior.  Deb has two dogs of her own and Dafney makes three!  Deb has a history of putting her dogs first and providing whatever they need.  She has an active little Poodle mix that needed a playmate so these two will tire each other out.  Dafney is not a crippled dog, she is an acrobat and plays non stop, so this is a perfect match.  Deb is going to have two very tired pooches!  We are grateful to Deb for realizing that Dafney is perfect, just the way she is!

Hurley is home!  Luke and Sandy needed a companion for their Shorkie girl,  Leah.  These two snowbirds saw Hurley on the website and now Hurley is home and Leah has a brother to annoy!  Hurley now winters in Ft Pierce and summers in Maryland.  Not too shabby for a little dog who needed a home-- now he has two!!  Thank you Kim and Ron for helping this little guy find his new home with Luke and Sandy!

Bambi is home!  Ken and Bonnie didn't have a dog.  They work from home and had the time and love to spoil a lucky pooch.  Bambi is now a member of the "Luckiest Dogs in the World Club".  She has two loving parents and a beautiful home.  This little girl was hours from euthanasia.  Kaye sponsored her, our volunteer picked her up and look at her now!!

Rubydoo is home!!  Holly and Joel drove quite a distance to find a companion for Ayke, their 90 lb Giant Schnauzer girl!  This couple has the experience they need to train and care for these huge dogs, plus they have an acre for the dogs to run.  Ayke is checking out her new sister.  Who knew that Rubydoo who's going to be 60 lbs, would not be the biggest dog in the house!

Evan is home!!  Evan went home with Paul and Jill to join their 60 lb female Giant Schnauzer!  Paul and Jill have 35 years of experience with big dogs.  Their one year old Giant Schnauzer had just lost her companion so Paul and Jill drove over two hours to take Evan to his new home.  With their kids grown and out of the house, their home is still full of fun and activity with what will soon be another 60lb Giant Schnauzer!!

Olivia is home!  We adopted Olivia to Amy and Joe and their daughter Julia.  Amy is a runner and Joe and avid walker so Olivia will get all the exercise she needs!  Amy and Joe have experience with big dogs so they know that exercise is key!  Julia is a stay at home mom so Olivia gets a full time mom to drive crazy!  PPR owes Patricia, Olivia's sponsor and JoAnne, Olivia's foster mom a huge thank you!

Lily is home!!  We adopted Lily to Vincent and Sharon who drove 4 hours to meet her.  Sharon is a groomer so Lily will always be beautiful. Vincent and Sharon don't have any children, but they have so much love to give that their dogs are treated like children.  Lily is now part of their family and will be loved forever.  Sharon is welcoming Lily with a hug,  to their family of five now!

Abigail is home!!  Abigail went home with Kelly, Don and their two children.  Their previous terrier lived to be 16 so they are looking forward to spending the next decade and a half with Abigail!  This family has lots of dog experience and mom is a homemaker who will be helping Abigail with her housetraining skills.  We sent this family Abigail's photo and they drove over two hours to come meet her!  This was a pooch with nowhere to go and nobody who cared about her.  Now she has a family who loved her so much just from a photo, they drove half way across the state just to meet her!

Zak is home! We adopted Zak to Heather and Samual and their two sons.  Heather works from home and she says she has a little shadow now who follows her everywhere.  Their cat is elderly and not as active as he used to be so Zak is providing some extra love and activity to their home.   Heather was at the vet getting a dental on her cat when she met Zak who was being loved by the vet techs.  Zak reached out to her with his paws and it was all over!!.  Now he is part of this loving family.  Thank you Michelle and Kris for sponsoring this little guy!

Libby is home!!  Paula, Bill and their 13 year old daughter adopted Libby who is showing her appreciation with a kiss!  This family has a 9 yr old Aussie named Sarah so they know what herding breeds are all about-- exercise, activity, toys and play!  Libby will be a very busy girl for the next 15 years!  Thank you Mandi and Jessica for fostering this little gal!

Peppy is home!!  We adopted Peppy to Rich and Helen who needed another dog because they only had one-- their precious Papillon Sasha.  Everyone knew there was enough love in this home for a second dog.  Peppy is the lucky boy they picked to join their family.  Peppy is an older dog that so many others had given up on.  Rich and Helen were not looking for a perfect dog, just one they could spoil!  Thank you Kaye for sponsoring this little man who now has years of hugs ahead.

Twixy is home!  We adopted Twixy to Anthony and his 8 yr old daughter.  Anthony drove 2 hours to meet Twixy and of course he fell in love with her because she is the sweetest dog ever.  Anthony could have run down to the local pet store or breeder and purchased a puppy.  Instead he drove 2 hours to rescue one.  Another true rescue hero!

Teddy Bear is home!!  We adopted Teddy Bear to Amanda and Adam who met Teddy and he stole their hearts.  Amanda's career required that she and Adam move to New York City so of course their precious Teddy Bear is now a New Yorker as well!  He is going to love that cold weather and his Pomeranian coat will keep him nice an toasty.  Thank you Jordan for fostering this boy and Amanda and Adam for giving him the home he deserves!

Georgia is home!!  Georgia is on the right and her new sister Nora is on the left.  Suzy adopted Georgia, then they went off on their first family vacation!  Here they are posing next to a babbling brook, the first of many adventures in Georgia's life.  Georgia lived a very sheltered life before she came to PPR.  Now she is a social butterfly with a sister to wrestle and a mom that has a history of giving her dogs amazing lives.  We love Suzy for rescuing Georgia instead of buying from a breeder and we love Melissa for sponsoring Georgia which saved her life.
Spicey is home!!  Spicey's new life is full of love from Melissa, Justin, their beautiful daughter and 2 other pooches!  Spicey has a bit of separation anxiety.  With this big family he never has to be alone because he always has Romeo and Angel his furry brothers around.  As Spicey starts to believe he's really HOME, his separation anxiety will go away.  His new family is so patient which gives Spicey the confidence he needs to recover even faster.  Another example of a family adopting a dog that isn't perfect, but they love him anyway.

Chester is home!!  You can't meet Chester and not love him.  It's impossible!  Kristen and Stanton were put to the test.  When Chester's foster mom went on vacation, her friends Kristen and Stanton volunteered to dogsit Chester.  Little did they know that Chester had other plans.  Chester started working on them immediately with his adorable looks, silly antics and cuddliness!  Within a week, he stole their hearts and had himself a mom and dad that adored him!  Thank you Deb for sponsoring him and Sarah for fostering him!

Quincy and Wrigley are home!!  Jan and Scott adopted this pair after losing their beloved Pepe and Chelsea who lived long, happy lives.  This couple knows how to spoil a dog!  Dogs are family, not pets!  They provide only the best care to the furrier members of their family.  Quincy and Wrigley have ridiculously happy lives to look forward to.  And everyone knows there's not a better state of happiness than RIDICULOUSLY happy!!

Lucy is home!!!  We adopted Lucy to Nissa and her son.  Nissa is a Professor (not a model as you may suspect from this photo) and she and her son are dog-lovers.  They wanted to rescue a dog in need.  Coincidentally, Lucy was in need of a family -- a perfect match.  We have to send a big thank you to Linda for fostering Lucy during the two months while her leg healed.  This photo makes all the hard work worth it!

Thank you to Patricia for sponsoring our sweet boy Norman and to Jen for being his terrific foster mom.

Bach is home!! Phyllis and Terry immediately fell in love with one of the sweetest faces to come through PPR, that of our tiny poodle Bach. Thanks go out to Deb and Greg for sponsoring Bach and to Marylynn for being such a great foster mom. Just look at this happy family!
Bella is home!! Diana applied for a blind grey/black poodle before we even had one! Then along came Bella within a couple of days and the match was made. Tinker is home! Rebecca and Kevin, Tinker's foster parents, could not let him go! They have a dog named Schmoopy who also begged mom and dad to keep Tink. Schmoopy and Tink play all day so the thought of splitting up this pair was unthinkable. Obviously, like all of our foster parents, this couple takes extraordinary care of their dogs. Tinker hit the jackpot! When we got him, he was full of ticks and terrified.  Now he's a dog with so much personality and so loving that he found his way into the hearts of his foster parents who simply couldn't bear the thought of letting him go. Another "foster failure" and we couldn't be happier!! Tinker too!!

Simon is home! Lydia and her daughter came to meet Simon and knew right away he was the one for them. He will be a spoiled only dog and have someone to hang around with all the time.  Mom works from home and now Simon can be her "assistant" during the day. When the teenagers get home from school then its play time. Thank you to Linda R for being such a great foster mom to Simon and a big thank you also to Patricia for keeping him off of Death Row.

Murphy is home!  Jackie adopted Murphy, who's new name is Twinkie.  Jackie's nieces are pictured here with Max the Schnauzer and Little Bit the Poodle.  Max has a mad crush on Twinkie, evident by his loving stare at her!   Jackie has a heart for the "underdogs".  She understands Murphy's needs and has an acupuncturist to help Murphy continue to do great.  Jackie loves Murphy to pieces but it's Murphy who won the lottery!  Thank you Jackie for opening your heart to a homeless, older, imperfect, loving, wonderful dog that needs you!

Bruno is home!  Bruno went home with Sarah, a teacher.  Sarah helped to raise and train her parents Goldendoodle, Rosie.  She decided it was time for her own dog to train and accompany her on her daily runs.  Bruno is a young pup that needs exercise and a mom with some experience.  We call this a perfect match!  Bruno has playdates with his Grandma's Labradoodle where they chase each other all over the house and gets his daily runs with his new mom.  Thank you Susan and Lisa for sponsoring Bruno!

Crackerjack is home!!  We adopted Crackerjack to Tammy, her hubby Kevin and their 8 year old daughter.  Crackerjack gets to join this family and their Westie Abby and their Persian cat.  Crackerjack is going to have lots to do in this home, so many other pets to chase and a little girl to grow up with.  Thank you Tomi for fostering this little puppy and so many others who contributed to the care of Crackerjack and his brother and sister pups!
Camilla is home!  We adopted Camilla to Lynda, Robert and their 3 children.  Camilla joins this family and their dog "Snickers" .  Snickers is adored so it was important for Camilla to love him too.  Camilla fit right in.  She and Snickers worked out an arrangement where Camilla stole Snickers' bed but Snickers got a new bed.  When Camilla started to steal all the toys though, Snickers decided to take them back which has resulted in lots of play for both dogs and family entertainment.  We are so thankful for this family and their dedication to all of their pets, even their guinea pigs!  Camilla is a very lucky girl!
Taro is home!  We adopted Taro to Tim, Victoria and their 3 kids.  Their prior Irish Setter passed at a very old age so it was time to add a new dog to the family.  Taro, like most pups, needs an active lifestyle.  These kids will ensure that Taro gets to burn off his energy with lots of playtime.  Taro is going to live the good life with his new family, as he drove off in style.  The foster moms are often crying and smiling when they say their good byes.  Thank you Tomi for a job well done!

London and Paris are home now!  These two came to us when they were 2 days old.  The pups and their mom were in bad shape.  Our vets and their foster mom did a great job keeping them all healthy.  Patricia, Mauricio and their two daughters adopted London and Paris who join their other 2 dogs Ozzy and Pinina to complete this perfect family.  This is a home full of fun, love and dog experience!  Just what every puppy needs.!

Skippy is home!!  Skippy now lives with Patrick, Jennifer and their 10 year old daughter.  This family now shares their home with 2 pooches-- Skippy and Haylee.  Haylee is their 12 year old Labrador, that's still going strong.  She's still active and playful and now has a brother to play with.  This family originally wanted a to adopt a girl, but when they saw Skippy, the knew he was the one!  Thank you Roberta for sponsoring Skippy so we could save him and make him healthy!

Mike, Lisa and their two beautiful girls adopted Faith!  This family had a Golden Retriever named Ben.  Ben was adored and lived for 14 glorious years with them.   They lost Ben in October and needed another dog to complete their family.  Mike and Lisa waited until the summer, for the girls to be out of school before they adopted their next family member.   Faith is now the luckiest dog in the world, with  14 years of fun ahead of her.  We are so happy for Faith and grateful to Mike, Lisa and their smiling girls.

Emi and Yuki are home!!  We adopted these two pups to Tomi who is a dog expert!!  Tomi runs the Orlando Canine Country Club,  a premier dog boarding facility in Orlando.  Tomi was Emi and Yuki's foster mom and when it came time to find them homes, Tomi said, "They are already home!".  Emi and Yuki get to come to work with Tomi everyday so the next time you board your dogs at the Orlando Canine Country Club, stop by and see them!

Bella is home!!  Mary and her family adopted this little stinker!!  This family lost their beloved Sheltie "Paige" who had a long happy life with them.  Now Bella gets to be the lucky girl to live her whole life being loved by this family.  She has so much to look forward to now!

Jellybean is home!!  Jellybean now lives in a gorgeous home with his new mom Anne.  Anne is one of those smart, responsible folks who knows that adopting a dog is simply the right thing to do!  Jellybean is the lucky recipient of Anne's generosity.  Instead of being euthanized at animal control, Jellybean is in the arms of his loving mom, Anne where he'll stay safe for the rest of his life.
Daisy Duck is home!  We adopted Daisy Duck to Colleen and her husband Greg who have a Westie named Sydney.  Colleen and Greg just had to put their dog Paxton to sleep so they wanted another dog to love and keep Sydney company.  Colleen is retired so she has lots of time to devote to Daisy.  We know this family and how much they love their dogs.  We are so happy that little Daisy gets to be part of a family that will cherish her.  Thank you to Patricia and Sherry who donated to save her.  Here's Daisy with Colleen and her son on their first day with their new baby!  Colleen's face says it all!

Brewster is home!!  Erika was looking for her first dog.  She's a smart, caring girl so she knew rescuing a dog was the right thing to do.  She cared about the dog's personality but wasn't particular about a breed.  Brewster is perfect for her because we don't know his breed and neither does he!  Erika is active and so is Brewster.  These two go for long walks and this weekend Brewster goes on his first boating trip!  Erika sent us a photo of Brewster in his flashy new bright orange lifevest.  He looks so proud!  Brewster was homeless a week ago and now he has a mom AND a boat!!

Bongo is home!!  We adopted Bongo to Gayle an Al.  Bongo joins their Poodle/Terrier mix named Shunji.  Bongo is a high energy puppy who needs a mom and dad dedicated to him and willing to give him the attention he needs.  He also needs another medium sized dog to play with to help burn off some energy.  This home has both -- it's perfect for this boy!
Buckaroo is home!!  We adopted Buckaroo to Robert and Erlinda who's previous Beagle lived to be 16.5 years old!  Buckaroo is going to be a spoiled dog in this home.  This couple provides unbelievable care for their dogs.  Buckaroo had a tough life and there is not a more deserving dog than him for a home like this.  This couple and this dog is what dog rescue is all about.  Robert and Erlinda, who could have any dog they wanted-- a cute Beagle puppy from a breeder or a pet store maybe.  But instead they sought out an older dog that had lived a tough life so they could spoil him and give him the life he should have had.  Buckaroo has alot of great years ahead of him.  He is the luckiest dog in the world to have this couple as his new mom and dad.  We can't thank them enough for being so caring and generous.
Clover is home!!  Clover came to PPR unable to walk.  She could crawl but not walk.  She had lived in a cage her whole life so her back legs were deformed and she had severe patella luxation and a torn ACL.  One surgery later and this dog is RUNNING!  After surgery she could stand, then she could  walk a few steps, then walk around the house and now she can run.  Clover is now making up for lost time because she won't stay still!  Her foster mom and dad, Michele and Karl, simply couldn't let her go.  Clover's a smart girl and made sure they fell in love with her sweet side before she unleashed the wild girl she turned into after PPR fixed her legs!
Dane is home!!  We adopted Dane to Mike, Diana, their son Zack and their Great Dane named Gracey Day. This family caters to their pets including taking them on vacation. This home is going to be so much fun for Dane.  Life has changed for this funny, affectionate, deserving boy and we are so happy.  Thank you Lisa for fostering him-- now Dane is part of a wonderful family.  Adopting a dog in his senior years is the most unselfish, generous act we see in rescue.  Mike, Diana and Zach are true heroes!
Winston is home!!  Winston's real name was "Peluche".  He belonged to Iraida, Edgar and their two sons.  They went on vacation and Peluche got loose from the person that was watching him.  Animal control picked him up after Peluche was running loose on his own for a while.  His eyes were horribly injured.  We had to remove one eye and perform surgery on the other.  Iraida and Edgar were so happy to see Peluche again!  Everyone was in tears except for Peluche who would not stop smothering his mom in kisses!!  Thank you to Scot & Pamela and Dee for donating the funds to pay for the veterinary care for Peluche.  What an incredibly happy ending!
Logan is home!  We adopted Logan to Andy, Michelle and their two girls.  Logan needed a home with lots of activity and energy.  He needed kids, other dogs, a big home, a big yard and of course a pool!  He got it all!  Logan has a Weimaraner brother to knock around, 2 girls to chase, a big home to run full speed through, a yard to hunt in and dig up and a pool to wash off in when he's all dirty!  The perfect home for him or any dog!  Thank you to Mandi, Leigh and Deb his foster moms and sponsor for giving Logan his perfect world.

Princess is home!  We adopted Princess, now known as "Milly" to Annie.  Annie is an attorney who grew up with family pets and it was time for one of her own.  She has already reported back that Milly is doing great.  Annie wanted a dog that would enjoy being an only spoiled pet and would take walks with her around Lake Eola.  This is the perfect home for Princess Milly.  She loves to hog the attention and strut her stuff in public so walks around downtown will be the highlight of her day!  Thank you Deb for sponsoring this gal so she could continue to share her silliness!

MayMay is home!  Maymay went home with Amy, Don, their two sons and their Pug "Tuffy" the black Pug pictured here.  This family has owned Pugs and Boston Terriers their whole lives and has a great history of making each one a part of the family.  They honor their commitment of caring for their dogs for a lifetime.  Maymay is a lucky girl -- two brothers to spoil her and a handsome Pug to play with!

Gigi is home!! We adopted Gigi to Kathy and Edward and their 12 year old Shih Tzu named Micka who is young at heart and still loves to play!  Gigi is going to be in heaven with this couple. The dogs sleep in the bed, of course and Kathy makes them home-made dog food!  These dogs will eat better than most people.  This is the happy ending Gigi deserves --from animal control into Kathy's arms.  (Gigi is the one with mommy, Micka is with daddy).  Thank you Patricia for sponsoring her!

Boogey is home!!  His new mom and dad, Nicolle and Nicholas, adopted Boogey to join their son and daughter (pictured here) in their happy family.  Boogey, being a true Boston Terrier-- LOVES kids so he has it made.  Also, Boogey loves attention and can't get enough of it so being the only dog in the house suits him just fine.

Dusty is home!!  Dusty, who is now named "Darby" went home with Sherry to join her family which includes two other lucky dogs.  Sherry is a special person.  She is well-known in Central Florida as the "Rescue Rider".  Sherry has spent the last 5 years raising funds to rescue dogs.  She does this by signing up sponsors who make donations for every mile she rides.  She has raised thousands of dollars over the past 5 years and continues to pedal for pooches.  Darby came to us with heartworms, a broken paw, a broken ulna and puncture wounds. He leaves us in Sherry's arms, the safest and most loving place he's ever been.

Buddy is home!  We adopted Buddy to Elizabeth, Peter and thier son Matt.  Buddy lives beachfront now with a family that think he's the best.  Here's what Elizabeth has to say about Buddy:  "We are so happy with Buddy who we have re-named Max and we wanted to send you this photo with our son Matt. Max has settled in so well and we are loving having him in our family."  Thank you JoAnne, who fostered Buddy for PPR so he had a safe place while he waited for his forever home.

Daisy is hone!  Daisy was adopted by Caren, her husband Jerry and their black Poodle "Duffy".  Caren was Daisy's foster mom who watch Daisy transform from a terrified, malnourished little girl into a playful, happy proud Poodle.  Daisy has grown attached to Caren and she just didn't want to go anywhere else.  Now she doesn't have to!  Thank you Caren for your patience in fostering Daisy and for helping Daisy to trust again and enjoy life!
Claire is home!  We adopted Claire to the perfect home.  This family is exactly what she needs-- lots of experience, a Shih Tzu brother and 3 older kids who will love and play with her constantly.  Claire went home with Crystal, Craig and their three older children.   Claire now has a Shih Tzu brother named "Spice" to play with which is great for her because she loves to play.  Claire came to us needing an intricate emergency surgery that our vets performed and saved her!  She is now a member of the "The Luckiest Dogs in the World" Club!!
Bentley is HOME!  His eye is perfect after our vet performed a surgery on him for "cherry eye" and he is home now!  We adopted Bentley to Justin, Katie and their Puggle "Vaela".  Their Puggle is much bigger than Bentley which is a good thing because Bentley will wear out a smaller dog.  These two will be a great match for each other!  Katie has already been in touch with us to tell us that their vet checked out Bentley and his eye is great!  Puggles are high energy dogs so these two need each other and will make life easier for mom and dad because they will have two tired dogs!!  Bentley who finally has a job-- wear out Vaela!!
Wyatt is home!  We adopted Wyatt to Michael and Gloria and their 3 beautiful children.  This lovely family was looking for another dog after their boy Chewie died.  Chewie was an adored  mutt they adopted from the pound 17 years ago.  Wyatt has now become the luckiest dog in the world, just like Chewie was.   Wyatt has some medical issues but he's fine now.  We love this family for not wanting a perfect dog, just one that needed a home!  Thank you Nancy for sponsoring Wyatt's care.  There's lots of laps and leather sofas in his future now!

Joker is home!  We adopted Joker to  Julie, Matt and their 4 children, 3 pictured here.  This family is dog experienced and has an unbeaten record of caring for their dogs for a lifetime.  This is just what Joker needs because he's going to be a handful for years and years!  Also, a houseful of kids is part of Joker's plan because he's part Jack Russell and they are energy machines.  Joker will get plenty of exercise and wear out the kids in the process!

Spidey is home!!  Spidey went home with Brenda and her 4 children ranging in ages from 11 to 17 (two pictured here).  Their Cocker Spaniel died in January of congestive heart failure at 12 years old.  He was of course a rescued dog as well.  This family understands that the responsible way to add a dog to your family is to rescue it instead of supporting pet stores or breeders.  Spidey is a lucky boy to get to live with this smart, responsible. loving family!

Rollie is home!!  We adopted Rollie to Gerard and Debi and their Shih Tzu Poodle named Leah.  This lovely couple rescued Leah and she needed a companion.  Rollie loves other dogs so he needed a friend to chase and play tug-of-war with.  Now these two have each other and a wonderful home.  Thank you Casey for sponsoring Rollie and for completing this family!!

Charlotte is getting her first hug in a loooooong time.  She went home with Kathryn and Pete to join their happy family that includes their Terrier mix "Joy".  Joy is the center of their lives, so now Charlotte gets to share in the attention.  This family has lots of love to go around and lots of hugs.   Joy, the Terrier, is the same age as Charlotte so these two will be perfect companions.  Thank you Denise for sponsoring Charlotte and thank you to Kathryn and Pete for driving across the state to adopt her!

Max is home!  Judy and Jim drove all the way over from St Petersburg to meet Max.  Their beloved Casey had passed and it was time to fill their home and hearts with another lucky Maltese.  Max hit the jackpot with this family because he gets all the love in the home to himself!!  He will keep Judy and Jim laughing for years to come!

Heidi is home!! We adopted Heidi to Marcia and Joe who love her dearly!  Their last Shih Tzu was a spoiled girl that lived to be 15.  She passed and it was time for another Shih Tzu girl to bring joy to their lives.  Heidi is a bundle of joy, so this was the perfect match!  Thank you Tara for saving this little girl and thank you to our general donors who help all of our dogs!

Cooper is home!!  Cooper went home with Nancy to live in her beautiful home with her family.  Cooper now has a Collie sister named Annie and also a cat to share his new home with!  Of course Annie and Cooper are best buddies, but the cat doesn't appreciate this new puppy addition just yet.  Cooper is learning to treat the cat with respect, but it goes against every instinct he has!!  Thank you Deb for sponsoring Cooper and thank you Nancy for adopting instead of buying from a breeder!

Trisket is home!!  Trisket is our trick dog.  He is the smartest dog we've ever met.  So what better mom to have than a dog trainer!!  Sarah is a professional dog trainer and has already trained Trisket to do all sort of things.  Trisket will soon be making sandwiches and serving drinks to his new mom and dad!  This was such a great match because Trisket craves the attention and stimulation that agility training and trick training give him.  He is a happy boy now that he has a job!  Thank you Sarah for loving him and thank you Bobbie for sponsoring him.

Bonnie is HOME!   We adopted Bonnie to Nicolle, John and their 8 year old Poodle named Simba.  This couple takes extraordinary care of Simba.  They had been searching for a friend for him, but not a dog that was too active, rather one that would share his walks and some play time.  Bonnie was playful at times with her foster moms dogs, but was mostly a chilled out dog.  She is their perfect match and she will be loved (starting with her first belly rub above).  Thank Danielle, Bonnie's sponsor, for saving her life!

Angel is home!!  Angel went to live with JoAnn and Samuel and their rat terrier/yorkie mix who will be very happy to have a new brother.  Angel loves other dogs and is going to have a blast in his new home.  His new mom and dad were so excited to meet Angel and didn't hesitate for one second in adopting him.  It was love at first sight.  Of course with a face of an Angel, who could resist.  We are so thankful to our adopters for opening up their homes to rescued dogs like Angel.  JoAnn and Samuel are another example of the educated and generous folks that adopt from rescue groups and shelters.  Thank you!

Mitzi is home!!  Mitzi is a gorgeous blonde Yorkie.  She needed a home with another dog to play with.  Michele and David have a long history with Yorkies.  They currently have a Yorkie girl who wanted a brother or sister. to share her life with.  Michele and David weren't particular about the breed but when Mitzi arrived at PPR we knew this was the perfect home for her!  Mitzi is going to be so spoiled in this home, which is a good thing as she is a little princess!

Pierre is home!!  Teresa is a Poodle lover!  She needed another Poodle to adore, but she was open to other breeds as well.  It was most important to Teresa that she rescue a dog that needed her, no matter the breed.  Knowing Teresa had a history of loving and caring for Poodles, we matched Teresa to Pierre.  As you can see, another successful pairing by PPR!  Thank you Teresa for not buying a dog from a breeder or a pet store.  People like you allow us to save these dogs!
Cleo is home!!  Cleo lives in Maryland now with her new mom Lynn.  Lynn is the aunt of one of our volunteers.  She heard that Cleo had special needs because she was very afraid and would soon be needing leg surgery.  Aunt Lynn's Pomeranian had lived to be 16 and her Chihuahua, 17.  They had passed so she was looking for a new dog to rescue.  There wasn't a dog that needed her more than Cleo!  So Aunt Lynn paid for a volunteer to fly first class with Cleo to Maryland to start her new life!  Cleo is now named Ruby and she is loved and adored.  Aunt Lynn is getting her all the care, treatment and surgery she needs.  Ruby won the lottery of homes.  We simply couldn't have imagined a more perfect home for her!
Sassy is home!!!  We adopted Sassy to Julie and Bobby and their 2 adult daughters.  This family has a history of loving their dogs for a lifetime!  Their Cocker Spaniel and Poodle had both passed so they were ready for another pup.  When they met her at the foster mom's home, Sassy went right into Julie's arms as if she knew her.  Julie has emailed us that Sassy acts like she has lived in their home for years and they love her like crazy. We are so thankful to Jane for sponsoring her and for this wonderful family who decided to rescue a dog instead of buying one from a breeder.  This is such a happy ending for such a precious pooch.

Madeline is HOME!! We adopted Madeline to Debra who has a history of adopting the dogs that nobody else wants!  Madeline was extremely shy.  It was obvious that she had a terrible life before PPR rescued her from animal control.  It took her soooo long to come out of her shell.  We had to find her a home with someone experienced with these sad cases that would be patient with her.  Along came Debra.......Madeline's angel.  Another happy ending made possible by our foster moms and donors!

Cinnamon is home!  We adopted Cinnamon to Sally and Dan to join their 2 other tiny spoiled pooches--Diva and Ruby.   Sally and Dan care for their dogs like children.  They only get the best.  Sally works part time so there's lots of mommy time for the dogs.  Diva and Ruby are so tiny, Sally emailed us photos of all three dogs sitting with her in a cozy recliner.  Cinnamon hit the jackpot!!
Mollie is home!!  We adopted Mollie to Judy who has cats!  Who would have thought that a Rottweiler would love cats?  We were skeptical but we thought that based on her wonderful personality there was a chance.  As it turns out Mollie is perfect with them!  Judy has also discovered that Mollie loves to swim.  She's sent us photos of Mollie chasing balls into the lake and having a blast.  Thank you Judy for falling in love with Mollie and giving her a new life!
Boomer is home!!  Melissa and Greg adopted Boomer!!  Boomer joins this family who has 2 twins (a boy and a girl), two other rescued dogs and a rescued cat (named Mary Poppins-how cute!).  Of course, like most people who rescue dogs, they spoil them to "make up for" their old life of neglect.  Boomer was so skinny, sick with kennel cough, had a growth on his side and heartworms.  His teeth were so bad he had stopped eating.  We were his last chance.  The ONLY reason we could save him is because of our donors and Sandy his foster mom.  And now he is living with Melissa and Greg in a home full of love.  Thank you so much from every one us at PPR and of course Mr. Boomer!
Penelope is home!!  Kelly, Kurt and their two children Bailey and Grady adopted Penelope!  Their rescued lab died of old age a few years ago and they wanted to try a small dog this time. Penelope needed a home where she could be the center of attention so this was perfect for her.  Penelope has so much love now it's crazy!! She even gets to go to work with mom who says her family is "over the moon with Penelope".   We can't stop smiling at the happy ending for our girl who was out of options on her last day at animal  and now she's adored!
Winnie is home!!  We adopted Winnie to Patricia, Bob and their YorkiePoo named Mika.  Their 17 year old Poodle passed at Christmas and they all miss having a second dog around, especially Mika.  Patricia and Bob drove over two hours from Stuart to meet Winnie and of course they loved her.  Winnie is now living in luxury with her new mom and dad.  Pat sent us an email after arriving home that the neighbors have already made quite a fuss over the new addition to the neighborhood.  During their first walk, neighbors were jumping out of their cars to meet the new girl.  Winnie came to us cold and hairless. Now she's warm and fuzzy in her new home with her new mom and dad!

Peanut is home!!  Sissy, Peanut's foster mom, fell in love with him.  Peanut had heartworms, needed to be neutered, vaccinated and have his teeth cleaned.  He had entropian eyelids that required surgery in both eyes.  After all of his surgeries and treatments, Peanut had an extended recovery time.  It was long enough for Sissy to fall in love with him!  Peanut joins Sissy's other Pit Mix Buddy to live the rest of his life being silly and spoiled!  We are so grateful to Sissy for seeing how special Peanut is and opening up her home to foster him and now adopt him!

Gretchen is home!!  Christine and Kerry adopted Gretchen who gets to join their happy family which includes to other large, happy dogs that they rescued.  So Gretchen has two doggie brothers-- Dakota and Bailey.  Christine and Kerry are just the couple we were looking for.  Gretchen needed a family experienced with large breed dogs.  Christine and Kerry know the importance of training Gretchen while she's still small.  They also know how important exercise is in the lives of large dogs and with two brothers to play with, Gretchen already has much of what she needs.  Thank you to Susan who sponsored little Gretchen and to Christine and Kerry for rescuing another one!
Miley is home!!  Miley went home with Steve, Mary, their two daughters and Lucky the Sheltie!  This family had extra love in their home so they put it to good use and adopted another dog!  Miley is gorgeous, but not perfect.  She is very afraid so her new family is working with her to bring her out of her shell.  They are showing her how wonderful life is and soon Miley will gain the confidence she needs to really take advantage of her new life.  Miley is learning that people are kind and loving.  This lesson alone will change her life forever.  Thank you Sandy for sponsoring this dog and of course to Miley's new family for opening up their home to her.
Callie is home!!!  We adopted Callie to Tiffany, Lisa and their dog Leo.  Tiffany and Lisa have a proven history of loving and caring for their pets, including their rabbit.  They were looking for another dog to join their family and Callie was their match.  Callie and Leo play non stop and Leo even shares his toys with his new sister.  Callie was with us a while because of her heartworms and she is a color and breed that many people don't prefer.  We are so grateful to Tiffany and Lisa for wanting to rescue and love a dog that needed them, not a perfect dog and not a specific breed or color-- just a dog that needed them!

Simon is home!!!  We adopted Simon to Miranda and Navin, a young married couple who needed a young pup to love.  This lovely couple doesn't have any children so Simon gets all the attention!  He even gets to sleep in the bed!  Simon had a tough few weeks but Sandy sponsored him, which allowed us to save this boy and lucky for him, Miranda and Navin decided to rescue a dog instead of buy from  a petstore or a breeder.  Now everyone is happy!  Simon sez "Thank you"!!!

Matt and Gail, year round RVer's adopted Sydney to join their family.  They tell us she has fit in perfectly to the relaxed RV lifestyle and she really enjoys the constant companionship.  Sydney makes pillow "thrones" in their dining room and on their bed, which she likes to lie in because, after all, she's the queen of the RV!  Gail says Sydney does great on her 2 mile walks except for her "squirrel lunging" which will take some getting used to.  Here's a photo of Sydney enjoying an afternoon with Matt, enjoying the tough life of an RVing dog!!

Ronnie and Sarah drove over 2 hours to meet Kirby.  This family has a history of spoiling their pets so we were thrilled when they said they wanted to meet Kirby.  We knew there was no way they could meet Kirby and not fall in love with him and we were right!  Kirby is only a pup so he's got so many years of adventures ahead.  He is quite fascinated with the two cats in his new home who maybe aren't quite as taken with him, but they will work that out.  Ronnie and Sarah tell us that Kirby is already part of the family.

Gumby is home!!  Gumby went home with Brooke, Lee and their son Finley.  Brooke is a stay at home mom so Gumby will get his exercise every day when Brooke and Finley go on their walks.  Gumby is pictured here but refuses to look at the camera as he wants to keep walking!!  Gumby is a very active pup and will thrive with this family of experienced dog lovers in this dog-friendly neighborhood.  Thank you Faith for taking such good care of Gumby while you fostered him.  He's off to live his life now with his forever family.

Teddy Cappuccino is home!!  Lara, Mark and their daughter adopted Teddy Cappuccino who gets to join them and their Australian Shephard Sammie to be part of this lovely family.  Teddy has already become best buddies with his new sister and the two of them will grow up together having lots of adventures and creating tons of memories.  Thank you Mark and Lara for inviting Teddy into your home and sharing your lives with him.
Sebastian is home!!!  We expected to have Sebastian for a while, but what do we know!!  Sebastian showed signs of having been abused so we needed a special home for him.  He needed a home with no children and someone who would give him the patience he needed to trust that nobody was going to hurt him again.  Richard is perfect.  He is very experienced and has a friend who is a dog trainer who will also work with Sebastian.  Sebastian has met all the neighbors and is already learning to trust Richard.  Richard has thanked us for rescuing Sebastian because he already loves him, but it's Richard that has given Sebastian this wonderful life!
Maggie is home!!  Maggie went home with Janis, Michael, Bogey their old Lab and their 3 children (pictured above).  This family is awesome.  Bogey is an old boy who just had his leg operated on for a luxating patella and he's doing great.  He needed a sister-lab to keep him young!   The family tells us that Maggie has brought out the "puppy" in Bogey.  Now that Bogey's leg is fixed, he can play with Maggie all day.  Thank you Tod for making the donation that let us save this girl from her fate at animal control.  And thank you Faith for fostering Maggie until she was ready for her new home.  Look at Maggie now--she's part of a family!!

Hudson went home with Bonnie, Tom, Olivia and Sam (who's at college).  This is a family of runners.  They run 3-5 miles a day and had a Schnoodle that used to run with them.  Their Schnoodle passed of a liver disorder.  They spent thousands on their dog to keep him healthy for as long as they could.  They knew they needed another dog to complete their family and Hudson was their match!!!  They have started him on short jogs and will build him up to 3 miles over time.  They sent us an email that "Hudson has them trained"!  That's what we like to hear!

Princess Xena is home with Rochelle and her family.  It's hard to see Xena in this photo--she's the black ball of fur on mommy's lap!!  Rochelle and her family have another dog who is much bigger than Xena, but very gentle.  Xena gets to be the boss because she has no fear!  She's a ball of energy and lives every moment to the fullest.  Thank you Maria and Richard for sponsoring Xena so she can keep her new family entertained for years and years!
Wally is home!!!  Jim and Sue adopted Wally to join their family that includes Kenicki, their black chow mix.  So now they have two fluffy black bundles of joy!  Wally is an older boy that was with us for a long time.  There aren't alot of folks that will adopt an older dog but when the older dogs get adopted, it's with the biggest hearted folks around.  Jim and Sue don't care that Wally is older because they didn't want a perfect dog, they wanted to rescue a dog that needed them.  Thank you Jim and Sue for being so generous and understanding what rescuing a dog is all about.
Paxton is home!!  Here he is getting his first hug from Martha, his new mom.  Martha is his angel as she prefers to adopt the older dogs so she can spoil them silly for their remaining years.  Paxton also has a new Poodle sister that he will be flirting with for the rest of his life.  Martha works 2 days a week which leaves plenty of time to give Paxton the amazing life he deserves.  Paxton has so many people to thank but he especially sends out hugs and kisses to Angelica his foster mom for taking such good care of him and driving him to all of his vet appointments.

Daisy Mae is home! We adopted Princess Daisy Mae to Susan, Marino and their two children Julie and Nick.  This wonderful family wanted a new dog as they their prior two dogs had passed from old age.  The fell in love with Daisy Mae's photo.  Daisy Mae needed surgery to remove two growths but this family wasn't bothered by that.  They knew Daisy Mae was their dog!!  Daisy Mae's surgery went perfectly and now she's home. living like a Princess with her sister Julie!!!!

Harvey is home! Harvey went home with Tara, Curtis and their 2 boys.  This family had their prior dog for 16 wonderful years.  They know what it means when you make a commitment to care for a dog!  Harvey wanted a home with kids to romp around with and a mom that would be with him most of the day.  Harvey's days are going to be filled with fun and activity from the time he wakes up until bedtime!  Thank you Deb for saving this boy and thank you Linda for fostering him!
Katie is home!!  Katie went home with Joe and Sandy who were ready for another dog to take over their home after the loss of their beloved Rocky.  Katie loves both mom and dad but has taken to following dad around throughout the house.  Now she's working on sharing his pillow!  Sandy and Joe are giving Katie the quality food she needs and medicated baths for her allergies.  Katie's age of 10 and imperfections just endear her more to this family.  Katie needed someone to care for her and love her, but isn't it wonderful that it's Sandy and Joe that feel like the lucky ones!

Mark and AnaMaria adopted Molly.  AnaMaria hadn't had a dog since she was a girl and Mark had never had a dog before.  They thought Molly sounded like a great dog for them because she was already trained and all she needed was love and they had lots of that to give.  Molly's lives a ridiculously happy life now.  She prances around in her Pink Gown and does her job-- loving mom and dad, as she shows us in her happy ending photo.

Andrea, Jamie and their two beautiful girls were looking for a family pooch.  Three weeks prior, Olly was at animal control, crouched in the corner of his cage, afraid of the world.  Kaye sponsored Olly so we could save him and Linda his foster mom worked her magic on Olly.  Within a week he was trusting, friendly and playful---the perfect family dog for the perfect family!  Thank you Andrea and Jamie for rescuing a dog instead of buying one.  Olly is the luckiest dog in the world to wake up in your home every morning!
Benjamin is HOME!  Benjamin is the black Poodle who gets to join Harley, the 14 year old grey Poodle in this perfect home!  Julie, Bill and their son had enough love in their home to add another pooch.  The met Benjamin and everyone, including Harley, loved him.  This family didn't care that Benjamin is middle aged and had just finished his heartworm treatment.  They saw a little Poodle that needed a home.  Benjamin has been loved more in the last week than he's been loved his whole life.  Look at him posing for his family photo!

Val is home!!! Paige, Jack and the two cutest kids ever, adopted Val.  This family is special for so many reasons.  Val came to us from animal control.  She was full of parasites and such a pathetic pup.  Her foster mom Faith and our vets made her well and now Val has a fat puppy tummy that nobody can resist.  Val loves kids and needed a family with children so they can grow up together.  Val's brother and sister will be loving her until they go off to college.  She is safe now and has years and years of adventures ahead.  Thank you Paige and Jack for taking a chance on a rescue puppy.
Moe is home!!  Sue Ann adopted Moe after losing her best friend "Toby" the Shih Tzu after 14 wonderful years.  Sue Ann and Toby were constant companions and now Moe gets to have Sue Ann as his forever friend.  Moe is going to be the king of the castle.  He will never be lonely because Sue Ann works from home.  Moe doesn't like to be alone so this match is perfect for everyone!  A special thank you to Evelyn his sponsor for saving her first Death Row Dog--Moe!!

Elkie is home!  Meredith and Chris saw Elkie on the website and decided it was time to add a third Poodle to their Pack.  This family adopted Baxter from PPR, then they adopted Bailey from PPR and now they've added Elkie.  Bailey needed a big dog to play with, so Elkie has a job!  This family of Poodles and Poodle lovers is where Elkie belongs.  When Meredith and Chris decide that 3 is good, but 4 is better, PPR will be waiting to hand Meredith another one to love.
Shaye is home!!  Beverly and James have a long history of spoiling their Malteses and Poodles who have lived to be very old pooches.  After the loss of their last dog, it was time for another one to fill their hearts.  Coincidentally, Shaye needed a new mom and dad, after her last owners abandoned her.  Beverly and James have already introduced Shaye to everyone in the neighborhood, in style of course-- a golf cart!  They say Shaye loves riding in golf cart and is a hit with the neighbors!

Riley is home!  Nina and her family fell in love with this little old man.  They have 3 other Poodles at home for Riley to live with and love.  Riley was loved his whole life.  His prior owner loved him.  But she became ill and couldn't care for him anymore.  Thomas sponsored Riley which allowed us to bring him into our care.  Our vets gave Riley all the care he needed and now he's home again with his new mom, Nina.  Riley's owner couldn't love him anymore but she would be so happy to know that because of the kindness of strangers, Riley is still adored.
Cassie is HOME!  Tod and Paula adopted Cassie who joins their Corgi Princess named Xena.  Cassie is a special dog.  Her owner died, she needed expensive care and nobody wanted her.  A family friend called every rescue group she could, but because of Cassie's age, they all said "no".  We said "yes" and because of the generosity of our donors and the work of so many volunteers, Cassie got the care she needed.  And because of the educated and generous way that Tod and Paula approached the idea of adopting a dog, Cassie has a loving home.  This sad little girl is now cherished by her new family and she couldn't be happier!

Gabby is HOME!  This little lady's life has been turned right side up!  She was a homeless matted dog with heartworms and now she's a healthy, happy little stinker!  She's got two sisters to grow up with and beautiful home to call her own.  Gabby is so full of personality and energy and now she has a family to share this with.  So many folks helped to save this little one and we are thankful for them all!!!

Paco is home and he's spoiled ROTTEN!!  These are the homes we wait for!  Michelle and David didn't have a dog, just 2 birds.  Their two sons, Gavin and Justin were ready for a pooch, so they thought they'd "try it out" by fostering.  We thought Paco might be a good fit for their home and so did Paco!  Paco is a smart dog-- he saw the beautiful home, fell in love with this family and made the whole family fall in love with him!  Before long his foster home, became his forever home!   Paco is one lucky ChiChi with 2 boys to keep him busy-- as you can see he's exhausted in this photo!

Gulliver is home!  Gulliver went home with Vigie, Lena and their Poodle named Ambie.  Vigie is  a disabled Marine Veteran who spent 10 years in the United States Marine Corps.  She was injured in Iraq and is home now with her family.  Currently Vigie is a full time college student raising a beautiful daughter and spoiling two lucky dogs, that would otherwise be homeless. We are so grateful for Vigie and Lena for opening up their hearts to another homeless pet and we are also extremely grateful for Vigie's heroic service to our country.

Sherwood is home!  Brandon and Jamie adopted Sherwood who joins their terrier Maggie to complete their family!  Sherwood now has a big back yard to play in with his new sister and lots of toys to call his own because Maggie won't play with them!  Brandon said Sherwood walked in the front door and hopped on the couch like he knew he was home!  Thank you to Kurt and Gail for sponsoring Sherwood, Debra for fostering him and his new family for adopting him!!
Troy is home! Troy who will now be known as Teddy has wagged his way into the hearts of Rosemary, hubby Ray and fur sister Princess!!  Dad is semi-retired so Teddy and Princess will spend little time alone, which is a good thing, because this little guy can NOT get enough attention!! Teddy's new family showed up with all his new supplies and couldn't wait to get him home! They will do a meet and greet with his new vet this week just to make sure he is in tip top shape. This super family is all about snuggle time on the couch- Teddy's favorite activity!! This is a perfect match!

Astro is home!!  Katie misses her family Beagle which is at home with her parents.  She visits, but needed a dog of her own to keep her company as she works from home most of the time.  She also needed a jogging partner and coincidentally so did Astro.  Last time he went jogging on his own he got hit by a car so he needs Katie to keep him safe!  Astro has been a good boy for Katie-- he's no dummy-- he's got it good now and doesn't want to do anything to mess it up!

Hugo is home!!  Scot and Pamela saved him with their Death Row Dog sponsorship.  Our vets went to work on him.  Our foster mom loved him during his recovery and now he's really HOME!  Sam, Leslie and their boys have given Hugo the family he's been waiting for and 2 brothers to romp around with.  Lots of memories in the making!
Whitney and Willow are home!  Whitney (the grey one) is Willow's mom.  Willow is blind and the two were at animal control, out of time.  Sandy sponsored them so we got them out!  These two are happy girls with their new mom and dad.  Willow was born blind so she acts like a normal puppy because she knows no different.  Julie and Richard opened up their hearts to these two gals and as you can see Willow is very grateful to Julie for adopting her and her mommy, Whitney.  We are very grateful too!  This family is their perfect match, literally-- Whitney and Dad have the same hair as do Willow and Mom!!

Blossom is home!!  Allen and Sandy decided to give Blossom the home she deserved.  Blossom now lives in a mansion fit for the queen that she is!  She is joining a Poodle sister and a Labradoodle brother, who she will attach herself to.  Blossom loves big dogs and will be curling up with her Labradoodle brother all winter!

Ozzie is home!  Laura and her cats adopted Ozzie!  We think that Ozzie thinks he IS a cat!  Ozzie is very calm and loving and just wants to be with you getting his belly rubs!.  He is getting slathered with attention because when Laura goes to work, she drops him off for "Doggie Daycare" with her mom and dad who spoil him during the day.  So Ozzie is never alone because when he's not with mommy, he's with Grandma and Grandpa who love his dearly as well.

Benson is home!!  Kevin, Lynda, their 3 children and their Golden Retriever Mix Honey decided Benson would be the perfect addition to their family.  They drove all the way from Clearwater to meet him.  Julianne picked him up and hasn't let him go!  Benson had nobody to love and nobody to love him.  Now he has an entire family to call his own and a Golden Retriever to teach him how to be a good dog.
Cassidy is home!  And look at that face on her new sister Melody!!  These two little stinkers are going to have so much fun together and keep Amy and Michael very busy.  There's going to be years of laughs and adventures as Melody and Cassidy team up to ensure they live every moment to the fullest.  This is the home Cassidy has been waiting for.  She came through her heartworm treatment and now is able to run around as much as she wants (or chill on the couch, which she enjoys too!).  Thank you Richard for sponsoring her and Michael and Amy for giving her a loving family.

Harvey is home!  It always takes a while for our older pooches to find the right home.  These guys deserve the best homes because most of them have spent years and years being neglected.  Our sponsors save them by Saving a Death Row Dog.  We make them physically well again and our foster moms restore their spirits.  But they still need an angel who will love them, knowing they may only be around for 5 years or less.  Debra is Harvey's angel.  He hit the jackpot with his new mom Debra and is now determined to live forever!

Magnum is home!!  Larissa and Adam were looking for a big active dog to complete their family.  They live an active lifestyle and needed a dog that could keep up!  Magnum fit the bill.  Now Magnum's schedule is full of fun.  He's got lots of activities on his agenda including running, dog parks and outdoor cafe's.  Of course Magnum needed a new name suitable for his new active life-- so he's now known by his fans as Bruce Wayne -- The Dark Knight!

Bailey is home!!  Aris and her hubby Ken are relatives of one our best volunteers.  They heard of Bailey's predicament and wanted to meet him.  We'll you can't meet Baily and NOT fall in love immediately.  So of course they wanted to adopt him.  We are thrilled because Bailey gets to stay in the PPR family.  We'll get photos and updates for the rest of his life!  So many people donated to help him and we appreciate all of you.  For those of you who donated $5, we appreciate you too!!  What a happy ending for this little guy.

Honey is home!  Janis and Michael saw her on the website and it was all over!!  The didn't mind that Honey is an old gal or that her sight is limited, they just wanted a dog to love for as long as Honey would be with them.  Now Bianca, their Maltese, had other ideas!  But within 4 days Honey and Bianca were playing and now everyone is happy.  We want to thank everyone that helped us save this little girl.  Our vets, volunteers, donors and especially Janis and Michael who saw something in this little girl, that most people don't-- a bundle of joy!

Fiona is home!  She was adopted by Brenda and Bill, two of the most caring people we have ever met.  This couple has a Toy Poodle and a Yorkie.  They had room in their hearts and their home for one more.  They wanted to rescue a dog that NEEDED them.  Fiona is an old girl, so nobody adopted or rescued her from animal control.   Richard, her sponsor, saved her life with a Death Row Dog donation, and Brenda and Bill will love her forever.  Oh, and Fiona will stay current on the latest fashions of course!
Sammy is HOME! Bill, Willemina and their son adopted Corey the Poodle from us a while back.  Corey tricked them into thinking he was a good boy so this family came back for another one!  Sammy (the big boy on the right) joins his Poodle brothers Corey and Teddy to live his life of fun and adventure.  Another happy ending made possible by our donors, volunteers and this wonderful family!

Lola is HOME!  Lucky Lola has 2 brothers and one little princess sister to play with.  Lola has tons of energy and loves to play ball with the boys and she knows to be gentle with her princess sister.  Lola's dad takes her running and her mom stays home caring for the family, which now includes ridiculously lucky Lola.  Lola could have never imagined this life for herself, but Scot and Pamela, Lola's Death Row Sponsors certainly did!

Spike is home!  Sarah thinks she adopted Spike.  Spike tells us he's adopted Sarah.  Either way Spike wins!  Sarah knows that because Spike is an old man, her time with him will be limited.  She doesn't care about his age, just that he's happy.  Sarah will erase Spike's memory of his old life and create a whole new world for him.  He's become a very lucky little king!

Luis is home!  Luis went from having nobody to having a huge family of his own!  He now has a mom, dad, two brothers, another Chihuahua and 3 cats to call family.   We are so happy for Luis, who is now called Rudy.  His new family says that Rudy charmed them immediately and adjusted to his new life and routine without any issues.  Way to go Rudy!!

Jasper is HOME!  Judy and Dan had been considering adopting for a while.  They babysit their son's dog, but decided it was time for one of their own.  They met Jasper, whose one-eyed status didn't bother them at all.  They fell in love with Jasper's laid back personality.  Jasper loves his walks, but also enjoys afternoons on the sofa and waiting for a taste as his parents cook in the kitchen!  Jasper has years and years of a great life ahead of him.  From animal control, to a lovely home on a golf course!  Thank you Judy and Dan for giving him a brand new life.

Noelle is home!  Noelle is home now with Toni and Harvey to be spoiled silly for the rest of her life.  Toni wasn't particular about what dog she saved, she just wanted to little girl to love.  Coincidentally, Noelle was looking for a mommy and daddy to spoil her.   So off goes Noelle to enjoy her new life!

Pebbles is home!  Amy, her husband Shawn and their red Pomeranian "Nuri" adopted Pebbles.  Pebbles and Nuri will grow up and grow old together as brother and sister.  Amy and Shawn treat their dogs like their children so Pebbles and Nuri are very lucky.  They are educated dog parents who understand the commitment and HAIR involved in owning a Pomeranian!  These two fluffsters have a lifetime of fun and adventure ahead.

Mia is HOME!  Mia needed someone who cared.  Someone who didn't want a perfect dog.  Someone who didn't mind that she was old and blind.  Mia NEEDED Ellen.  It takes a very special person to adopt a dog like Mia.   Ellen knew that nobody would give this little girl a home for Christmas, unless she did.    Mia will thank Ellen every day for the rest of her life.  There simply aren't words for us to properly thank Ellen for opening up her home and heart to this sweet, blind, old tiny girl.   All we can say is THANK YOU Ellen for loving a dog that needs you.

Bosco is home!  Jayne and Gary hadn't had a dog in years.  Their girls decided it was time to add a brother to the family.  Lucky Bosco was their match and now he's a proud member of the family.  Bosco is such a good boy, we are so happy for him and grateful to his Death Row Dog sponsor for saving him.
