Jagger
Terriers (Medium), ,Meet Jagger! This friendly terrier blend is about a year old and weighs 30 pounds. Jagger was dumped and left to fend for himself, but now it's time for him to "rock and roll" in his new life!
- General Behavior: Jagger is described by his foster family as a sweet, very active and playful guy. He truly has the “moves like Jagger”. Just like "The Rolling Stones", this Jagger wants to be a part of the band!
- Likes & Dislikes: Jagger LOVES to play, especially with other dogs. He also enjoys a good walk, although he is still trying to learn how a leash works. He loves to romp around in the water at the lakeside to cool off but doesn’t seem to want to go for a full swim. He is learning to play fetch and is a big fan of toys and bones. He is not a big fan of new noises and will bark, but quickly settle, when hearing them.
- Training: Jagger has been a total rockstar with his housetraining when let out on a regular schedule. He has good basic manners and is learning how to walk better on a leash. In his foster home, he stays in a secure area of the house when home alone and is able to do so for several hours without issues. He does whine a bit when his humans leave the house but chills out quickly. He likes to “relocate” items around the house, but rarely chews them. Speaking of chewing, he is a great eater and not picky at all. With focused training, Jagger should get just about anything down you want him to learn.
- Medical: Jagger is healthy and will only require his monthly heartworm and flea preventative.
- Other Animals: Jagger loves other dogs of any size. The more playful, the better! In fact, he gets super pumped playing tug-of-war with his current “foster brother” who is a Great Pyrenees mix. Because of his energy and young age (and to prevent boredom), a home with another playful pup is required. He is not sure about cats yet and his feelings towards them are hit or miss. For that reason, a home without cats is probably best.
- Children: Jagger has done great with children of all ages.
- Home: For Jagger’s safety, he would be best suited in a home with a fenced yard. He loves to chase lizards, birds or anything that moves quickly away from him. Remember, he is still learning all about his new life. After a day of play, this guy will crash in his dog bed, but would love sleeping in the “big human bed” where he can get great snuggles.
- Grooming: Jagger is a short-haired blend so will not require any elaborate grooming other than his regular bath and nail trims.
- Overall: Jagger would be a great addition to your home if you are looking for an all-around great pup. Want to take him out and about? He’s already been to farmers markets and town events where he gets lots of people gawking over how cute he is. Jagger is still a “puppy at heart” and would relish in a home filled with a patient human willing to teach him the ropes, as well as another dog to play and spend his time with.
Are you the one for Jagger? Visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org, where you will find the application to adopt. You'll be put in contact with his foster family if it's a potential match. Jagger is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered. His adoption donation is $375.

Chihuahua, ,Meet JT! This 10-year-old Chihuahua blend weighs 13 lbs. JT is a gentle boy looking for a calm, child-free home, where he can receive all the snuggles and yummy snacks his heart desires.
- General Behavior: JT is a total snuggle bug once he's comfortable with you! He is sure to hop right up in your lap for those highly sought-after ear scratches, and he may even give you a peck on the cheek! He does need some time and space to feel comfortable with his people and may initially be quite timid. If given space and allowed to open up to you on his terms, he is sure to be your best friend!
- Likes & Dislikes: Having a car equipped with a special seat just for JT is of utmost importance because this little guy LOVES his car rides! He jumps right in and sits down; he doesn’t even roll his eyes when you put on an audiobook instead of the radio—he’s just along for the ride. JT does not like quick movements or to be touched or grabbed without permission. He requests the same respect he gives his humans. He does quite a bit of dancing - tap dancing for foodies, little hippity hops when he is happy, and back leg kicks when he wants to play.
- Training: JT is a polite gentleman! He has been showing off his good manners in his foster home. He walks well on a leash, is happy to be outside and moving but doesn’t pull, and is more than happy to go on a stroll around the neighborhood.
- Medical: This healthy boy will just require his monthly heartworm and flea preventative, like any other dog.
- Other Animals: JT interacts well with other dogs, though he does take a couple of days to find where exactly he fits in. Once he feels comfortable, you can find him looking for the perfect opportunity to jump into the morning cavalcade of zoomies or their mid-day wrestling match. He has not yet been introduced to any cats, but we think he would do okay given a proper introduction.
- Children: JT is not a fan of grabbing hands or quick movements. He will require a home without children. Teens are okay.
- Home: A single-family home or dog-friendly apartment living would be just fine for this sweet boy. As long as he gets his cherished car rides, and walks around the neighborhood, he is happy!
- Grooming: As a short-haired Chihuahua blend, JT will not require any elaborate grooming other than his regular bath and nail trims.
- Overall: All in all, JT is the perfect gentleman; his manners are impeccable, he’s silly, calm, and loving. He does okay with other calm dogs and simply needs a child-free home, with someone who understands that he may need a little time to settle in and let his true self show.
Are you the one for JT? Visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org, where you will find the application to adopt. You'll be put in contact with his foster family if it's a potential match. He is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative, just had his teeth professionally cleaned, and he's neutered. His adoption donation is $250.

Chihuahua, ,Meet Juliet! This 3-year-old Chihuahua blend weighs 11 lbs. Juliet is looking for a dog-savvy human who can provide her with love, stability, and, of course, lots of snuggles.
- General Behavior: Juliet, while timid at first, is a true snuggle bug once she has determined you to be her "person". She is wary of strangers and needs time to trust that you are a friend, not a foe. She can often be found happily sitting in her human's lap, watching the newest sitcom while getting those highly sought-after ear scratches.
- Likes & Dislikes: Juliet loves the outdoors! She enjoys chasing lizards in the backyard and going for walks. Juliet likes things to be calm and laid-back in her life. She is not a fan of big changes, frequent visitors, or visiting dogs as they give her anxiety. As long as Juliet has her person and snuggles, she is happy.
- Training: This adorable girl has been working hard on her training in her foster home. She has good leash-walking skills and is a polite passenger in the car. She is still working on her social skills and general basic manners. She will require a family that can commit to continuing the training she has started in her foster home.
- Medical: Juliet is a healthy gal! She does take daily medication to manage her general anxiety. The cost of this is approximately $8 per month. Aside from this, she requires her monthly heartworm and flea preventative, like any other pooch.
- Other Animals: Juliet will require a home with no other animals. She prefers to have her humans to herself.
- Children: A home with no children is required for Juliet.
- Home: A single-family home or dog-friendly apartment living would be just fine for this beautiful pup! She requires a calm and laid-back home without frequent visitors and a dog-savvy, snuggle-loving human.
- Grooming: As a short-haired pup, Juliet does not require any frequent trips to the groomer. She just needs her regular baths and nail trims.
- Overall: Juliet is sure to thrive in a calm and loving home with a human who loves her just as much as she loves them!
Are you the one for Juliet? Visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt.
